The ongoing saga that is the pandemic is killing many businesses, and I have spoken to Adrian Sterne, industry expert and author at Top 10 Sports Betting Sites who told me that even some of the biggest UK sports betting sites are taking a battering with their income levels dropping through the floors in much the same way as their land based counterparts income has dropped.

Now, no one usually feels sorry for bookmakers of course, however with many of them having no income or operating on a much reduced income for the last year or so, due in no uncertain terms to the cancellation of many sporting events the world over, many of them are cutting back or even stopping the advertising they once did with many sports clubs.

In fact, there are many sporting events that are planned to take place in the following 12 months or so that are bereft of a sponsor, for many business owners have had no other option but to pull out of advertising and sponsoring all manner of different sporting events as they no longer have the funds to do so.

Rugby Clubs, Football Teams and all other sports clubs have also been unable to generate the income they once did through ticket sales, for with no matches going ahead for many, many months many such clubs as struggling to survive and some of them may not do even after lockdowns are lifted.

As for how those clubs generate income moving forward, well it will be much more of a case of them making cutbacks for a good 12 months, rather than hoping to generate additional revenue, and that could see many of them having to sell off their star players, and some may also be forced to sell off their stadiums and lease them back off the new owners.

Many different options are being looked at by all sports club owners, for no matter how soon things return to some form of normality, many of them are going to be struggling for cash moving forward for some considerable time, and it is going to sadly be a case of survival of the fittest for possibly many years to come.

Government Backed Emergency Lending Schemes

During the midst of a global pandemic, it has been the case that not many banks have been willing to lend money out to sports club owners, much more so with the current pandemic going on for so long and with no real end in sight for many countries of the world as to when they can get back to some form of normality.

It has however been the case that many countries of the world have had the foresight to at least roll out a furlough scheme which has enabled business owners and no end of sports club owners too, to be in a position to at least pay their staff during the lockdowns.

There has also been no end of Government backed loan schemes having been launched over the last year, and having seen some figures recently, the number of business associated with the sporting industry that have been forced to take out such loans is huge.

The problem though facing many sports club owners is that the loans they did take out at some point in time over the last year are soon going to have to be paid back, and if things to not return to normal and rather quickly many of them are going to be unable to prepay those loans and will end up closing down.

I know that many of you out there are itching to finally be able to come and go as you please, and as such as lockdowns come to an end you will probably be planning plenty of quality time with your friends and family members and will want to get out of the house for sure.

Well, please do keep in mind that your local sports club or your favourite team will be eager to fill up the seats and the stands in their grounds and stadiums and you really will be helping them out if you make the effort to attend some of their upcoming live sporting events, so make sure that is something you do.
