The New York Times is positively giddy about the possibilities of regulated online gambling in the U.S. But before you jump on the bandwagon, notice that the Times talked primarily to European sources. And those sources want online gambling to be regulated in the U.S., so of course they're going to pump up the possibilities. Also, as the story acknowledges, Steve Wynn is against online gambling even though it would help his company (yes, Wynn said that). He's against it because doesn't think it can be regulated. And that's a prevailing sentiment among many movers and shakers. So while the coverage is positive, take it with a grain (actually several grains) of salt.
