how does bodog do in the Uk currently? with all the competition not sure a US targeted brand does so well. I wonder if the brand translates over to British punters or do they stick with paddypower, ladbrokers, betfair etc etc

Good question, but you should ask your question in a new thread so that you don't derail this one.

Further to my comments on the previous page about what looks like the worst of any dispute processes, I've now had occasion to see the UK Gambling Commission in action.

You could not make it up:

    http://online_casino_news.hundredper...efusal-to.html

In short: player requested casino appoint a "third paty" as per the GC's rules, to mediate a dispute over a four-figure cashout. Casino appointed IBAS. All good - except that IBAS said they couldn't do it, for valid reasons. Player got back onto the GC, saying, OK, since IBAS can't be the third party, we need someone who can, otherwise the casino is in breach of your regs.

The GC said: the casino has fully complied with our requirements. You're on your own.

Utter, blatant lie. Read my article above for full details.

The UK Gambling Commission makes the Malta LGA, the Alderney GGC and eCOGRA look upstanding and efficient.

Oh yes, just to add: the casino ended up paying. Coincidentally, they paid about two days after I'd emailed the Commission saying, OK, you may be more bent than a three penny piece, but I'll be suing your asses over this (as the player's representative) , and I'll win because your client doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Beyond the security of our efficient legal system, the UK offers no more player protection than Curacao or Costa Rica.

    Old news. See page 1:

So why they STILL carry the banana republic Antigua & Barbuda seal is a mystery to me. Why receive a license then not advertise it? Any casino can target UK customers, so it's not like they get that advantage but would rather players didn't know about it, given our obviously superior legal system to A & B. Seems no gain to me to conceal the fact.

If a UK license granted unique priviledges I'd understand, but it doesn't, at least not until the UK finally implements its full licensing plans.

Bodog UK plans to launch the bodog.co.uk site under its UK license in the summer of this year.

    Thanks!
