    Default Bodog.com is now Bodog.eu

As seen in other threads here at the GPWA, the U.S. Department of Justice has seized more online gambling domain names, the biggest of which is DoylesRoom.com. However, the DoJ has not seized what is one of the most recognizable online gambling brand names around: Bodog.com.

The DoJ won't get the chance to seize Bodog.com, because as of today, the domain is no more. Bodog.com is now Bodog.eu.

    From Gaming Intelligence:

Kahnawake licensed online gaming operator Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (MMGG) has dropped its Bodog.com domain licence agreement in favour of Bodog.eu, in a move which the group claims will aid its expansion into Asia and Latin America.

According to BodogBrand, Bodog’s global brand owner and licensor, MMGG took the decision to expand internationally in December 2010 and has already started work on one new country. As part of its expansion strategy, MMGG chose to replace dot.com with Bodog.eu because it represents a “more global domain”.

I see the links to bodog.com redirect to the new domain automatically (.co.uk here) - do we still get credited or do we have to change our links again as with the bodoglife fiasco?

The redirect to the .co.uk domain has been going on for a year or more and previous to the change from .com to .eu you would definitely be credited. I've no idea how the double redirect might affect that, but I'd guess that, providing the cookie gets set, it should be OK.

Certainly, the links in the affiliate area are still bodog.com .

Yes but that has nothing to do with why they changed it now. That was related to a patent issue and they were forced to move everything to bodoglife.com

I contacted my Bodog AM regarding the change to .eu asking if it was a proactive move and if links need to change, he said:

The current links are indeed redirecting and tracking, but when you get a chance you can start changing the links to .eu
Regarding the move, it was a proactive move.
