Thumbs down Bookies and their affiliate registration processes

Is it just me or do others have problems and want to pull their hair out when trying to register as an affiliate?

Just tried registering with Totesport, it refers me to the ActiveWins website and gives me an email address.

Paddy Power - Registration still pending since 6th October, I have recently chased.

Unibet - Went through the registration process and got a blank page with no error (this has happened to me before about a month ago when I last tried), however this time I have got a confirmation email so fingers crossed!

Betfred - Not allowing registrations, you need to email ActiveWins.

    StanJames - Application rejected!

    Betclic - Application rejected!

Bookies, why are you making it so hard for us?!

This is pretty much the list of bookies I don't give a flying duck about - for the reasons you've mentioned. Excluding Betfred, adding BWin, this is my list of crap.

Many places will reject brand new sites "If you are not known to them" and sites with little traffic Betfred moved their affiliate program to the Activewins which now includes various programs.

Doesn't sound appealing to start in the bookie business then so.. Amazing to see the big names in the 'crap list'..

For a new affiliate it will be harder to be accepted. They will also check out your website. And if I'm honest you don't have any content on it. You give data that is available on a dozen other websites. Nothing that is "new" on your website. No texts you wrote yourself.

Maybe if you contact the programs directly by email/phone it will be easier to get accepted. I suppose you only filled out the standard forms?

Speaking to some of the affiliate managers in Barcelona it was clear that they were getting far more stringent about setting up new affiliates. In the past affiliates with no website at all to speak of (i.e. purely social media) have been able to become affiliates but now they seemingly want a decent site & idea first.

you've had a result being rejected from Stan James and Betclic, both have history of closing affiliate accounts and stealing players from affiliates

With a lot of sports betting sites they see new affiliates as a potential risk. Basically they are worried that affiliates will open an account to signup players under them to help levy their play. This means they can bet both sides of the game and because of the commissions awarded they will not lose. This is the theory anyway. The best thing to joining any affiliate program be it sports, casino or poker is to have a solid functioning site and once you complete the application send them a personal email letting them know you have applied and how you plan to promote them.

On a side note to this topic I have just relaunched www.readytobet.com,'s affiliate program and if you are a sportsbook affiliate please take a moment out to give me a PM. This brand accepts players from around the globe excluding the US.

Good post. I can also remember that I had a lot of problems when I signed up as an affiliate for some programs. What I absolutely donīt like is a combination of more brands on one platform.
