Thumbs down Cannot even visit some sites from US: This is a needless barrier for US affiliates

As I have been looking (more accurately, trying to look) at some Bitcoin related online gambling programs to promote, I have been discovering that ones which do not accept US players also block you from visiting from the US.

I have never seen that before with "normal" casino and betting sites even if they do not accept US players. This is a problem for someone looking to promote as a US affiliate for non-US traffic, however. Is this now a trend for all types, or just a quirk among the Bitcoin-only type sites?

    Can you name them?

Why do not you use VPN?

A number of the Playtech sites have been blocking US IP's for years, but like Sherlock mentioned, a VPN is usually the easiest solution..

There are also many sites where you can use their server based browser to view some sites, but I would not recommend using them to sign up and enter personal details.

Several sites block the traffic viewing their site where they do not cater for the players. For example you can not view 5dimes.ag if you are based in the UK. It makes good business sense to shutdown your site being viewed in countries you don't cater for as you can free up the resources in terms of speed and access to the places you do accept customers from.

Editing the message since I've read the initial thread not as attentively as I should. I'm sorry.

OP question was (from whichever reason) about casinos that are BTC friendly and do not accept US traffic. (I think none of them exist, because it makes no sense.)

Yes indeed they do, and they were ones I really wanted to look into for promoting. I do not want to have to go to the trouble of using a VPN, but I guess I might. I feel it shouldn't be that way, however. For example, if you want to visit or promote Microgaming casinos from the US you certainly can, but they don't take US players. Sounds simple to me.

It occurred to me that perhaps the real reason the Bitcoin casinos do this, i.e. just block your traffic period, is because the sign up process tends to be just email and Bitcoin address, right? Well I feel that if they are already implementing location detection merely when you visit and load the site, then all they have to do is pull that back a step and simply block sign-up and use based on location rather than block all visiting.

You definitely need to have VPN in your toolbox for looking at sites you promote to non-US players when you reside within the United States. Even if you can access the sites, frequently the content you see is different. For example, the games from specific software providers might only be visible to you if you look to the online gaming site like you are from a country where the games are offered. That makes it impossible to assess what a site has to offer visitors without using VPN. The online gaming world is just more complicated than it used to be.

I've tried Hoxx VPN (Firefox add-on), set a UK IP but didn't help to look at BetVictor' site. Suppose a good VPN is not free.

    I would suggest... https://www.cyberghostvpn.com/en_US/

Since many years on the market, the free plan is fast u can download or play games without disadvantage.
But...u have to wait 60 before u can connect to the VPN - i think this is ok.

A Firefox addon is only a proxy...because a vpn like CG hide the whole internet activity from your system.

And no,i dont get any cent for this post

    Regards

VPN is always a good option. I use Tunnel Bear and works very well.
