All experienced casino reviewers out there, I am planning to start a new casino affiliate site and looking for a fast loading WordPress theme. I've a custom designed theme which I'm using on my current site. I want a ready to use theme with demo data.
If you're looking for a ready-to-use solution, I'd focus on a theme that is actively maintained rather than just one with lots of demos. Performance, schema markup, review flexibility and long-term support will matter much more once your site starts growing.
Also consider how easy it is to customize without editing core theme files, otherwise updates can become painful.
Out of curiosity, what features are most important to you? Reviews, comparison tables, bonus listings or something else?
Great theme - the only thing I would change - is that absolutely massive header, right at the top of each page.
That's kinda hogging your valuable "above the fold space" there - when you could be putting much more interesting content + money buttons up there to help increase your click-out rates and ROI
I really wouldn't bother with dedicated casino themes any more. most are setup in an old fashioned way which might end up givign you more negative facotrs than good. I'd go basic empty magazine type theme and use AI to build things you might want.
We ended up building on a custom setup rather than a dedicated casino theme, mainly because most off-the-shelf themes are built for aggregator-style listing pages and don't leave much room for long-form editorial content. If your priority is genuine reviews rather than comparison tables, it might be worth starting from a clean, lightweight theme and building the structure yourself rather than fighting against a theme's built-in layout.
There are few casino specific themes, but those are build on very outdated way, and definitely won't be the most well performing on this niched. Lightweight Wordpress themes like GeneratePress are the way to go, and build custom features on the site. Nowadays with the use of AI everyone can build custom code for a website doing some basic learning with LLMs.
