Its seems kind of odd to me that many of the casinos I frequent have all updated their webpages and or link systems over the last month or so. I don't think its coincidence, and have always had the impression that the gaggle of casinos we see out there are actually owned and operated by a handful of organizations (or less!).

This is true but not for the reasons you stated. Rather this is in large part due to pressure from the GPWA and our stance against scumware, as well as the realization that affiliates need better tracking methods. These two factors combined have led to many casinos' recent changes.
