casino revenue - is it worth it ?

I have had a gambling site for 8 months or so,and am a bit disappointed in casino affiliate revenues to say the least.

Those online casinos are making millions,and the value of the sites are rated in hundreds of miilions.

But

It seems that most of the players i find for casinos either break even or win !

My enthusiasm is waining a bit and my scepticism is growing a lot.

Some casinos i have complete faith in,some i am not so sure.

i got carried away when those first casino customers signed up,but right now it those flat rate bookmakers fees that are putting food on the table.

Am i just unlucky with my players(if so good luck to them)or is my experience typical with other website owners.?

Well, if you quit your day job to do this, I can imagine you are disappointed. If it were simple or easy, then everyone would do it, right?

Working for yourself requires a lot more than putting up a site, and hoping they will come. Improvements and testing and lots of other things go into becoming more and more successful at this or any other business.

For food on the table, I suggest a day job, until revenues are more in line with your family expenses. ;)

I agree with what was said . I did not show much profit til i was on nearly a year . It took a long time of trying dif. casinos and seo work and the folks here really help me with the learning proc. :D

And if you are worried about your players winning, try a CPA model... It might provide more stable income.

could i also say that my post looks as if i am complaining or even suggesting skullduggery by the casinos and poker sites.

far from it - it is my fault if i don't quite understand the different casino revenue schemes and how they work.

just perplexed at why my players all seem so good !

some things that spring to mind regarding revenues that i am not sure about and has anybody any ideas?.

1)when a player signs up with casino - does that bonus they get count as winnings ?.If they do, that will knock out any revenue for some time,as they have to lose that as well as their original stake.If they move on after claiming bonus,the casino wins and affiliate gets nothing.

2)Processing costs seem different everywhere - what is a fair rate?.For instance,my most "successful" casino affiliation(i.e.i have most players) pays just 20% of profit,and they hit me with high processing costs.I have never made their payout threshold,indeed i am hardly ever out of deficit figures.Should i drop that casino - is it impossible to win under those conditions ?

3)Is it normal practice for casinos to only pay revenues for a limited period or for as long as the player stays on site ?.I seem to lose active players from sites even when they are winners.

4)have i made a bad mistake by taking revenues instead of flat rate sign up ? - or do i need to be patient before revenues pay off?.

once again can i stress that i am not complaining about my treatment by any casino sites,indeed when i have had problems they have been without exception helpful in every way - i just need to know what the obstacles are.

I want to thank the the poster whose comment i saw on this forum about search and destroy spy catcher.Adaware i thought was doing a good job,but if you really want to clean out your computer try search and destroy(its free or make voluntary donation) - amazed at what was on my computer,and after using s&d my computer has not run as sweet for many many months.

Lets see

Bonuses. I love it when a casino I promote throws bonus money at the players. They must keep them coming back for more. The reality is that players only become somewhat loyal after a few successful visits.

Revenue % versus CPA model. No doubt the revenue share model wins in the long run. You need to pick up one really decent player to see what I mean though. That takes time (wierd how everyone says it, it's true I guess)

Revenue % model. My top earners pay 35/40% We are talking playtech, the likes of Casino Blasters, BetRev and so forth. RTG's convert well but generally pay 25 to 30%. Microgamers I find are harder to convert and generally pay 25%. BUT, I push microgaming like crazy because the retention of the likes of Brightshare, Golden Star, Roxy, Wagershare and so forth is out of the top drawer. It's worth the wait to build up a regular player base at these casinos!

Unique models like Slotland (15% of deposits) also do well in the long run! I like poker too, you WANT a winning player because he generates an awful lot of rake in winning!

So, diversify a bit, get a few more portals. Push microgaming on the slots portals plus some RTG. Do playtech, microgaming, and RTG on blackjack focussed portals, there is lots of adcopy for you to create. Video poker is a great option too where you can push games like 100 hand poker across all software including Microgaming, RTG, Playtech, Odds On and Wagerlogic.

Then, have a general focus Casino Directory and spread the softwares across all pages. As you get your favorite casinos, so you start to feature them on inside and front pages.
