Default Casino or Sports for UK/Euro Market? What one is Better?

What aff industry is more profitable for the UK/Euro market, casino or sports betting? Also, since both industries appear to be very, very competitive in that market, what one(casino or sports) do you think would be easier to start generating steady income faster considering all other things(SEO, Content, Marketing, Advertising) being equal. Any opinions or advice from established UK/Euro affiliates, affiliate managers or industry insiders would be appreciated.

For you, mate, the answer is clearly sports.

Get the terminology right (forget sportsbooks: think bookies; forget picks: think tips; forget cappers: think tipsters, etc) and you've already got an advantage. There are enough people in the UK and Europe who want to bet on American football, MLB, etc - you just need to point them in the right direction and not sound like a Yank while doing it!

That, for me, is your starting point and then you can move into the sports that are most popular in Europe like football (think football: not soccer).

The opportunities to rank in Google for sports related terms far outweigh the possibilities for casino, so stick to what you know, but just localise to give you the credibility you need. And yes, that's localiSe with an 'S'. I think you get the idea.

Haha, right on brother! Thanks. Ya, I definintely noticed the slang is different in Europe in regards to tips, bookies, football(not soccer) like you said. That is definitely something that we will have to make sure we learn and understand so we don't sound like a yank lol. Another question for you if you don't mind. Our site is pretty much 100% focused on USA sports with the exception of global sports like the PGA Tour. However, our domain is aged since 2001, ranks very well in google.com for many "odds" keywords focusing on USA sports and our blog posts get indexed instantly on google and often on the 1st page. Are we better off adding a UK section to our current domain(ie www.nsawins.com/uk/) and work on targeting the UK/Euro audience that way or are we better off building the www.nsawins.co.uk domain we own and acquiring hosting in the UK plus setting our geo-target in webmaster tools to UK/Euro for a new .co.uk domain? We simply can't figure out what the better way is to start targeting UK/Euro sports traffic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated mate.

P.S. Does most of UK users/traffic use google.com or google.co.uk to search?

It defaults to google.co.uk as google obviously uses IP recognition and gives UK searchers the uk results whenever they can, so I would concentrate on the google.co.uk side of things. I have just typed in google.com and, because I am in the uk, it has gone straight to google.co.uk and ignored my request for the .com. If it's a new site you go for then, as you say, host it in the UK and tell google its uk in webmaster tools.

Regarding whether to have a UK section or your current domain or start a new one: that's a tricky decision. UK Google users get UK-slanted results, so even with a UK section on your established domain, you might not get any traffic.

I think, if it was me, I'd start a new domain and link from your old one to give it a bit of a start in terms of traffic, if not rankings.

I would have to say the best one for you is sports. Casinos are good but it would require tourist penetration in order to get good support. You can capitalize from the locals as well but the tourists are the ones who utterly provide a long standing support.

You just have to find the right direction and timing and you can get all the enthusiasts to sign up. And with sports, you have a bigger area to grow and advance your arsenal and your market.
