Short answer, yes.

Also casinos are much easier to promote. I think in order to promote sports sites successfully; you need to have a good knowledge on the subject. There are so many different types of sports and daily games, daily bets, etc and you need to update your site constantly.

Depends on the country you are marketing in. For example, in the UK, online sports betting is extremely widely accepted and has a much larger audience than online casino, however you also have a substantial % of the population who already have accounts with their favorite bookmakers and thus are not easy to convert. Overall in my experience online sportsbooks convert better than online casinos.

My experience is similar to Louis, in markets such as Europe, UK & Ireland, Australia and New Zealand - where sports betting rules way ahead of casino play. While the US has demonized sports betting as bad, the rest of the world is generally OK with it, and sees it as a natural extension of gambling on horses, and it is usually a common part of discussions about big sporting events.

With the general folk lore in the United States about a "weekend in Vegas" and gambling at the casino floor being a wild way to spend time and money, it probably is true that the American (and Canadian?) psyche is more in tune with gambling at casinos.

Asian players will gamble on both equally, but casino and sports betting is generally a male activity - with females prefering more basic luck numbres games like lotto and keno. The issue with asian players - as always - is finding a gambling site that will accept payments from a group that does not have extended access to credit cards. Much of the asian gambling is cash based.

I personally have been more successful with casinos than sportsbooks but I havent really ever tried sportsbooks that much. I know when I look for a sportsbook site I like to see actual player reviews and odd's and payouts etc etc. To me it just always has seeemed less time intensive to casinos and poker.
