Default casinos-online-888.com owned by member GStarr copies content

The copy, ever so slightly (and poorly) reworded:
    http://casinos-online-888.com/casino...e-mega-jackpot

    The original:
    http://www.casinolistings.com/jackpo...jackpot-pooled

The fool even copied the statistical data which of course is out of date now. The site claims to "track" the jackpots but doesn't obviously.

    Another one:
    http://casinos-online-888.com/casino...essive-jackpot

    http://www.casinolistings.com/jackpo...h-life-jackpot

In fact almost every page under this jackpot sub-section is copied.
    http://casinos-online-888.com/casino...ssive-jackpots

Large numbers of other pages and pieces of text on the site are also copied and obviously reworded from Casino Listings.

    Paf Review:
    http://casinos-online-888.com/online...-casino-review

    http://www.casinolistings.com/casinos/paf-casino-review

Its flattering I guess, but disappointing and annoying to see your hard work butchered like that.

There is still the same content on his website. Havent you done something against this miserable content thief? I would directly contact justhost.com, a serious hoster like them should be helpful when it comes to copy copyright Infringements.

    We're working on it.

I was hoping the mods here might have something to say seeing as the site is owned by a GPWA member but apparently not.

This statement is out of line, the staff here, moderators as well as the membership as a whole is sensative to the issue, and will back you and help you with situations such as this.

Personally I saw this the other day, but am not around much since I am not even in my home state right now, and taking an attitude with the GPWA is NOT the way to go.

Wow, overreact much? I've just seen your signature and it seems that my use of the word "mods" was wrong and instead should have said "mod". Now I understand why you're upset. It wasn't a personal dig at you or anyone for that matter.

I am not asking for help. I am simply alerting you to the fact that a member here is doing this. You can do with that information as you wish.

    Cheers

Muppet, thanks for alerting us to this issue.

We review the websites of private membership applicants to ensure that they abide by copyright standards, and do an addition review if a private member applies for the GPWA seal to be displayed on a particular site.

In this case, due to the violation, the webmaster would not be approved for private membership if he applied. I have sent an email to the webmaster noting that copyright standards must be adhered to, pointing out this thread, and requesting removal of the copied content.

Here is the content of my email, which I sent under the subject line "Copied Content on casinos-online-888.com":
    Hi gstarr,

A fellow GPWA member has reported that your casinos-online-888.com site is displaying content that was wrongfully copied from his site (casinolistings.com).

We require that GPWA members abide by copyright standards, which means you must receive permission from the copyright holder to use copyrighted materials such as articles, and you may not use content in cases where you have not received that permission. Please remove the content that has been copied from casinolistings.com and any other content that has been copied from other sites without permission.

For your reference, the forum post where this was reported is available at https://www.gpwa.org/forum/casinos-o...nt-209309.html. I encourage you to post in the thread to let us know when the copied material has been removed.

The webmaster responded asking which pages were duplicates, and pointing out that he doesn't have access to this thread (it is in the private-members-only subsection).

With permission from everyone who has posted in the thread so far, I would like to move this to the equivalent public area so that gstarr will be able to access it. Please post whether you give permission or not, or reply to the private message I have sent a moment ago (sent to each person who has posted in this thread so far).

Looking at the first few examples, I see a clear issue.

Although the words are slightly changed and the article is re-written, the format and general theme of each sentance and thought is being followed.

Agree with the OP on this case.

He is lying. Many of those jackpot pages still have sections of statistical info that he has copied verbatim at some point in time. The Paf review is still up. Several other pages that I identified and forwarded to him via PM are still up.

It would not surprise me if other pages on the site are copied from Casino Listings and other affiliate sites.

We are going the nuclear option tomorrow. All docs are ready to be sent to hist host so if I were him I would hurry up.

    Hello,

whoever who is not able to write own content or to design or pay or exchange for it, has in my opinion no place on the internet if his only "work" is to steal from other websites.

This happened 10 years ago, again and again, and it seems like there's no end.
    Disgustingly.

you could do that but they'll still have the content. you can find their host and contact them and they will get the content removed and even pull the whole site if they think it's plagiarised

The only thing that saved this clown's site is that he is (hopefully was?) a member here which made it possible to contact him. I was trying to give them the opportunity to see what they did was wrong and fix things using a little public shaming. The site is ugly and obviously written by a non English speaker, and it wasn't a complete scrape like we have had to deal with in the past. So it wasn't going to knock us out of the search positions or anything, nor would anyone visiting it think that it was a place worth coming back to.

Unfortunately judging by their responses to my PMs about this issue they neither think what they did was wrong, nor do they really care. He basically stated that "all casino affiliates copy each other's content so why shouldn't he". No apology, no contrition.

So I'm all out of generosity. Next time this person or anyone else for that matter tries this we will immediately pursue efforts to have the entire site taken down without warning like we have in the past.

Who the f*ck are you? Stupid p*ssy, to describe my site - is ugly or not and in which language is written. You are DMCA inspector or who? I tryied to solve that problem by PM, and i didnot copy-past your content like others do. But you need to go public. Ok. Firts of All No one hosting will shut any site down, not warning its client befor. Or only by the court decision. Second DCMA only can remove NOT the WHOLE site But pages with copied content from the search engines.

GO AND Chek all other affiliates websites and Tell me WHICH IS UGLY OR NOT by your f*cking opinion. Also go and chek them all for rewroted content, maby they rewrite something from other 1000's of affiliates websites.

I told about that all Affiliates DESCRIBING THE SAME PRODUCTS. So if the casino operated by Microgaming - ALL write that in any other way.
And maby if casino provide 100% bonus to 400$ - we also copied that??

Dont want even loose my time on that posting in that thread in your answers. Good luck

    1. Hosting CAN/WILL shut down without serving notice if they are properly served with notice.

    2. Just because others unethically copy and rewrite content doesn't make it right to do so. Claiming content was not copied or that it was "impossible" that you copied is straight rubbish.

    3. Consider yourself fortunate that the OP came at you via PM/email/forum as opposed to legally by serving you papers.

Why do people act so "entitled" when they're correctly accused of copying content, buying copied content, or using rewrites
of someone else's work as if it is OK because others do it? Just own the "mistake", correct the "mistake", apologize, and move on by downloading the product and directly describe it in your review or pay someone else to do the same without looking off your neighbour's work/description/review of said product.
