    Default Cheltenham Festival

It is nearly that time of year again! I hope the weather cheers up in time for next week.

    Is anybody going?

    Does anybody have any tips?

What are the best offers from the bookies? I know Skybet are doing a money back as a free bet if your horse loses in the first race of the day.

Also a friend always gives me a form guide he gets from some paid betting syndicate he is in. Happy to share it if anybody is interested.

Betfair have a good offer (get a winner @ 3/1 or more on day 1 and get 3 free bets up to £25)

I won't be going myself but will be glued to the TV over the few days (and visiting a few bookies)

Where to start....I play on the horses all year round, Cheltenham is Christmas to me

I'll be there for Gold Cup day.

I've not got too involved up to now but I have a nice balance I have accumulated, ready to get stuck in.

Backed a couple at big prices in January.

Minella Rocco for the 4 miler. Backed at 20/1, currently 9/2
Johns Spirit, Brown Advisory Plate - Backed at 33/1, Currently 10/1

I'll be avoiding the Mullins hot-pots (although they ought to all win on paper), I've never been one for odds on shots round Cheltenham.

Just waiting for the final declarations for the Handicaps and I will weigh up my other bets.

Thanks for the tips, which enclosure are you in for gold cup day?

Also what day and which race is the Brown Advisory Plate?

Just the Tatt's I find its usually the best enclosure at every course I've been to. Will you be there?

    Thursday 16:10.

At 10/1 the value has gone but I expect it to run a big race.

The wife and I are going on Wednesday, should be good fun. Had a decent run last year too (including Qualando on the nose at 25/1) so got a lot to live up to this year!

Some nice offers starting to appear - sky's money back if you lose is a no brainer. Coral are also offering £5 free for every mullins winner on day one when you bet £20 on the first race. Few other bits and bobs as well, I'm sure more will appear over the next week - as always we keep track of them here if you want to see the full list.

I have a friend that runs trends which have done well in the past. I'll be happy to post them up or share privately with anyone who is interested.

I am in the best mate enclosure this year for the gold cup. I have a boxing fight the next day so it will be a very sober day for me unfortunately.

That Coral offer seems good as well got to be worth the £20 on the first race. Coral usually pick a nailed on favourite an offer them for about 6/1 on the second day.

Thanks for the link with all the offers and tips will take a look through them all when I get a chance.

A horse I think is overpriced is Dodging Bullets (Champion Chase), appeals each-way at 12/1. Patently unfit first time and Nicholls yard in top form now.

Really interesting race this year the champion chase. Not one I'd get heavily involved in though.

UDS is miles ahead of the field, if he jumps a clean round but every time he runs he looks like he could tip over. I'm hoping the ground is on the good side and special Tiara challenges him for the lead. If that happens and UDS jumping is put under pressure the race is wide open. I'll have a small each way on Felix Yonger to grab a place at 16/1

Hope everyone had a better day 1 than me! (the betfair 3x free bets was a bit of a saviour).

Feel free to share any tips for day 2
