I was wondering - which CMS are you using, and why? For example, free WP, or something custom you have found? Have you perhaps built your own CMS or are paying for some other solution out there? I guess this question is for affiliate with bigger, more complex sites, perhaps.
Usually Wordpress, sometimes Drupal and sometimes a self built solution. Depending on the needs of the project.
I used to hard code all of the pages, but wordpress makes it so easy. Also, if I have custom code I just insert it into the template. It makes security easier maintain easier as well.
I've used Joomla in the past, and found it was good for a large site, with multiple users and departments. However, it was clumsy, and bulky. Also, when Joomla migrates to a newer version, like 2-3, did in my case, the migration was nto as straightforward. You hade to change some code to accomodate their new structure. I've never had those types of issues with word press.
However, if I needed a commercial level application that needed CMS, i'd use Joomla.
I've found WordPress to be the most effective CMS for me personally. If you are making something from scratch, you have plenty of frameworks and themes to help you out. There are knowledge bases and communities with endless of guides and information. If you know HTML, CSS and a bit of PHP then having the possibility of hard coding features in your theme is a great plus.
Wordpress is for us as you said makes things much easier.
We use to hardcore but with all the great plugins who has time these days.
Just make sure things are updated on a regular and even sometimes these causes issues.

Switched to Wordpress a while back and find it very simple & flexible. Used Joomla once in the past and find Wordpress is on a different level.
Since I don't use any CMS I can't participate in this poll. But from the listed options Wordpress is what I would opt for.
I started with Wordpress and as I am not good in coding, I am fairly happy with it.
Joomla - I got only bad feedback about it.
WP - it is simple, flexible and user friendly. You need to beare from some of the Plug Ins, but in life you have to know and take the rght "pros and cons".
I'm familiar with WP and using it for a long time.
Used Joomla and Drupal in the past but now stick with Wordpress. Joomla was too clunky although probably technically better for larger sites and Drupal updates used to creat havoc.
For most project, WP is sufficient. I am seeing a lot of major gambling sites built on that CMS.
Wordpress hands down. I've worked a lot on Joomla! at the past, dabbled a bit with Magento and Drupal, and you just can't replace the flexibility and time-to-market that wordpress is providing you.
Although I'm familiar with the WP and using it, I have a custom CMS as well.
I use, like most, WordPress. But lately I've been looking towards Laravel.

Very good. If you want to stand out from the crowd then look for something else. Laravel and Symfony are my favourites, but Laravel is easier. There are a lot of ready-code on GitHub built on Laravel. I recommend you to search for "bestmomo laravel 5.5 example", very powerful blog built by a professional. Just pull the code on your local machine, adapt it to your needs and deploy it on a remote server. You'll spend some time on coding, but in the end you will not be bothered by WP daily updates. I prefer to update my sites when I wish not when a third-party tells me. To code with Laravel is just a pleasure.Quote:

WordPress as it's really popular and easy to use.
It's free and allows you to add lots of custom settings.
But also it seems to me to have an inhouse CMS is good too
