Reminiscing about conference anecdotes makes me wanna dig up the old thread about the REAL hero story of one rather well known affiliate here....

Happened in Vegas a 100 years ago (ok feels like 100 years was probably fall of either 2004 or 2005 have to think more about that) and although I did not witness it directly, I recall being out for a lovely walk with another affiliate that evening and hearing the sirens and seeing the commotion from police and ambulance.

I won't share any anecdotes publicly. I almost posted one but even that one is too much.

Note to self: consider coming out of conference-retirement.

Haha wow what a hero Have you heard of Dumb ways to die? Funny game, with part 1 and 2. Made as a campaign by Metro Trains in Melbourne promoting rail safety. Your story reminded me of this game and the moment when you need to prevent a character from dropping the phone on the rails. You should try this game if you haven't yet

OMG, that's awful. You go to party and relax on the boat and finish in the hospital with serious head injuries. The worst conference story and scenario I've ever heard.

What happened at nights? Naughty Myron.

Needless to say, I saw lots of obnoxious drunks and lots of annoying strangers asking for binary traffic. Now regarding the fun moments I won't spoil those.

Oh cmon. You can't just say that and not post anything! Although I have a feeling I have heard these stories already, doesn't hurt to relive them

    I will have a look.

A few years back when we were still at the grange a few of us were riding in the lift and could see a bloke who looked like Beacon fapping in his bathroom with the door and curtains open to a magazine. Same conference someone was found outside their room completely naked and passed out. Same year someone well known got slapped on the ass then said slapper fell over and split his head open on the tiles in the foyer of the grange.

Then there are all my splits photos on ferraris, formula one cars, on the iamsterdam sign (yes, the huge one), in front of the Berlin wall etc

In Barcelona 2008 I was at a party and Erik who used to work for GPWA was following me around the party trying to get me to dance with him, and I grabbed an affiliate manager's arm and said "Please save me". He asked why and we both turned to look at Erik and he was grabbing his crotch and licking his finger and circling his nipples. Another memory I will never get out of my head.

I had another affiliate following me around at a party same conference, making disgusting comments to me about stuff while he was right next to his wife. I ended up pushing him against a wall and telling him if he came near me again I'd hurt him. Didn't see him again after that. Apparently I'm scary when I'm angry.

Every now and then I remember something that happened. Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I wish I'd forgotten.

    Spill it.
I spent quite a bit of time looking for it but was unable to find it so far.

I will find it eventually, and have discussed enlisting help to find it.

People that approached to me on the conference parties were rather direct, than stalking. Like some cheerful guy who was dancing and telling me: "Cool, you're from Serbia, I'm from Italy. Our kids would be so exotic."
But I don't know who he was or what was his role in this business..

Actually I've just remembered one after coming across this person's name.

In Amsterdam in June I met someone for the first time and the first thing they said to me was, "Oh yeah I know you. I masturbate over your photos. Why aren't we friends on facebook?"

    .....

So much to look forward to.

I recall in Prague or Budapest I saw a guy I know who will remain nameless walking into the hotel late at night with a leggy female draped in fur wearing a very short skirt and very high heels. Knowing this guy was single and was at the conference on his own I decided to investigate further.

I joined them both at the lift along with another affiliate manager, where the guy I know got all sheepish. We entered the lift where he selected his floor which was on the upper half of the hotel. I selected the first floor then all the others in between before getting off.

Turned out that was the guys most expensive lift ride he's ever had with no happy ending after she stepped off around the 8th floor and headed back to her corner for more business.

There was also the time on the GameOn bar crawl in Barcelona where we drank some flaming orange drink, which was awesome. After leaving the bar the fire brigade turned up as the bar was on fire!

Drinking in EuroPub in Amsterdam when someone spotted some rappers walk past. They went over to speak to them and invited them back to the bar. We sat there drinking and playing bar games for the rest of the night with E40,Dj Pizo and their crew.

I remember once in Barcelona where there was this small Russian owned bar across the way from the main hotel was taken over by affiliates and managers and the partying carried on so late that the locals were throwing things off there balconies to try shut everyone up Martyn you may have been there ? I think the cops even came to close the bar down and the next night the Russian owner refused all of us entrance good times ..

Yep, I was there. We got the lock in but it got too hot so they opened up again. The locals hated us that night, they threw water, glass and whatever else they could get their hands on. Funny stuff.

Yes, I remember that! It was a bar just big enough to fit 2 chairs in we were all spilled out on to the street. At first they were throwing water down (I really hope it was water!) and when that didn't work the glasses started and we had to beat a hasty retreat!

Was that the same year as the dirty protest?
    I wasn't at this party.

I also remember one year in London after the iGB awards there were a bunch of affiliates in the bar at the hotel screaming at me that I'm the best in the whole world, and stole a wine cooler from behind the bar and gave it to me as my award, then an affiliate was piggy backing me around the bar (there is a photo of this somewhere).

Same affiliates were in Barcelona one year doing their own awards and gave me one which was a napkin holder with a plaque on the bottom of it. Pretty funny when I think about it now although I was so embarrassed at the time.
