Default Content being copied then translated into dutch

I have come across a site which is literally copying every page I produce, however it's being translated into Dutch so it won't affect me in the SERPS however it's annoying that hundreds of weekly hours are just being cloned by some site in the Netherlands

You're not the first person to have it.
One day I'm going to look for it too, I'm sure I'll find it too.

That's still copyright theft. Find their equivalent DMCA take-down notices and email their web host.

It's a good country for business for me, This level of scraper would only come via proxy anyhow.. no way he is giving up this free resource, However I do have his IP, same one always.. hundreds of visits, And we are a EU registered Corporation and I have the funds to pursue it I just didn't really want the aggravation.

If the person is running whatever program or script to capture and database your content from his server, banning his server's ip is one thing that may or may not help.

Also check your site logs/stats to see if you can determine an ip that is hitting frequently enough that it could be the one copying the data. Be sure to perform lookups on the ip's to make sure it is not a known search engine.

Probaby some text writer that has the order to "re-write" articles from certain websites and receives € 0,01 a word for it. It happens quite a lot. The best thing in my opinion is to contact at least the owner of this website and tell him this is unacceptable. For legal actions you should contact a lawyer. Maybe they can get you some kind of compensation fee.

If it's manual, disabling right mouse click on your website might make the copy/paste process too difficult for him.

Sad to say, you can ban the IP address and add as many anti-theft codes as you'd like, but if he's really determined, he will work around them. But you might as well make it as difficult for him as possible.

IF you have his IP address - and it's always the same - then block it via htacess - it's pretty easy.

eg. Sample .htaccess file with three lines.

    order allow,deny
    allow from all
    deny from 217.107.126.99

This will block one single ip address and allow all others.

Be warned that htaccess files are a wee bit finicky if you get a command wrong then the file will fail and any other commands you have in there (redirects / files handlers etc) will not work.

But if you want to block a single ip address - and it's annoying you to the point of posting here this this will fix it.

We block thousands of scraper bots - many from hosting orgs like Amazon AWS, Chopra, Ghostnet, Bharti Airtel, Quadranet, Softlayer, Cachednet, Cloudflare, Redstation, Bezeq International, Nobis and OVH SAS etc.

Literally 1,000s of denied bot accesses EVERY day.

Well, I think whatever you do won't give you much of an advantage. Only unnecessary headache and efforts spent for "nothing".

What I'd do is the following:
    1) Contact the guy
    2) Explain your concern and your ability to give him some hard time
    3) Agree on some deal with him

A possible deal would be to kick back a share of the profits, place a few of your affiliate links instead of his, get some links back or whatever.
I am pretty sure it is better to look for some sort of a win-win solution here.

Would it be worth, just to seriously devalue your website. Create your own, cite it as part of your group of websites and potentially push him further down his serps. I know it's not affecting you but it will affect him as Google will know it's your site in a different language. You'll also pick up some extra revenue from it?
