What is an acceptable conversion rate (per click through)?

Whilst we realize that will depend on a number of factors i would appreciate any feedback, we are finding that one of our partner banners converts very well indeed but one of the others is a big disappointment, in theory, it should be a lot easier to promote a service at a lower entry level where a decent bonus is thrown in and no theirs complicated qualification rules!

Do banner clickers usually join instantly or during a later attempt.

It is so hard to say what conversion is acceptable. As you said it depends on so many factors like the brand and the market awareness the current offer that you promote the banner design and the call to action on it. One of the bet365 affiliate managers told me that they calculate a 1% rate for registrations. So when you have 100 clicks there should be at least 1 sign up. I think he talked about a general banner with the sign up bonus and no special offer.

Range is very wide we seen from 40 and up to 700 for new player, its depends on many factors, market, brand, support, signup process... etc'

True. It depends on the quality of the traffic, the casino brand, payment options available, etc. With some of my sponsors, I'll end up sending them 1000+ click throughs before I get a FTD. With other sponsors, I'll only need to send a few hundred click throughs.

There's definitely no one-size-fits-all answer for this, we've seen conversion rates of better than 1 in 10 on some exclusive/bespoke deals whereas other programs plod along at 1 in 300-500 or worse.

Cookie length/treatment also impacts conversion quite heavily, those with longer cookies & last click have a far better conversion rate for us than shorter/session cookies and/or first click.

It really depends on the banner's content ......on our 460 and 728 banners that offer our no strings attached $100 Free Slot Cash No Deposit | No Credit card Required ......have a 17% click through and our 125 x 125 banners with the same offer have a 10% click through and our banners without the free cash where for example we offer a $10,000 Sign up Bonus are less than 1%

It also depends on where the banners are located on the page if the banners are below the page fold you can cut the above numbers by 50%

Bottom line on the free offer we get a ton of player sign ups and we then go back after the data base where we normally have a .5-2.5% conversion factor to getting a real money deposit depending on the country we are targeting.

The bottom line the bigger the banner the more successful the both the affiliate and we are ....SO SIZE REALLY Does Matter

It REALLY will vary a lot depending on the gambling segment, your sites traffic, the bonus offer, and the quality of the program.

Our portal runs the three main gambling segments - sports, casino, poker - and there is a lot of variation between segments but also within segment as well.

Our best clicks to registration is 5% for sports, 12% for casino, and 12% for poker. I'm not surprised that sports is lower - because we actively promote our partners odds and offers, which may be clicked on by players that already have an account and are just going to use it.

We also have a few programs in all segments that are in the 1-2% ratio for clicks to registration now ... but they have a lot of existing accounts so ditching them would be silly - they are some of our highest return programs.

These days many clicks are bots that will ignore no-follow and disallow clauses, so the clicks count is usually inflated maybe by a factor of 1/3 to 1/2.

This conversion is for a good traffic, I dont think its reflecting the average ratio

As everyone else has said it all depends on your site, We get a lot of clicks but some convert very well others not so well if a visitors has come to your site looking for for specific betting/casino/poker it should be much less, My site relies heavily on volume to crunch my numbers whereas other sites get few visitors but great targeted keywords. my worst converter is 400 clicks "Still no sign up" and best is 1 sign up every 22 clicks

Have you found the time of year to be a factor too? eg Christmas is better/worse?

For me, 2~3% avarage click to new deposit.
