The Coronavirus should also serve as a wake up call to some people to stop eating LIVE mice, rats, bats and other disease infested creatures.

Interesting Article
The coronavirus is absolutely horrible and very contagious. Eating live animals in restaurants is disgusting to say the least. I saw on the news recently people walking normally on the streets and then just suddenly collapsing and succumbing to the illness, which eventually causes death, on the streets of Wuhan China.
There are almost 6 times as many people who have recovered as there are who have died... it doesn't necessarily lead to death as you said it does. Of the people who have died, 99% have either been old, babies, or had low immune systems. People with good health have recovered, but the media doesn't want to report those because scaring people is better for business.
Influenza kills way more people than 2019-nCoV has (approx 3.9% of infected each year vs about half that of 2019-nCoV).
There's a lot of fake news out there. A friend of mine got back from China a few days ago (FYI yes he is self-quarantining for 14 days) - he said the amount of crap that is on the news here that's not even true is remarkable. Don't believe everything you hear/read, positive or negative.
You can view the map here.
If you click on the red dot it will tell you how many there are infected, how many died and how many recovered. There is literally only 1 death outside China, and that was in the Philippines.
Total infected: 60,329
Total deaths: 1,369
Total recovered: 6,055
It would seem normal that the rate of infected people goes up exponentially now since incubation period is 2 weeks. People walking around not knowing they are infected, but there would likely be way more people infected if the government didn't shut down most of the country. Not just in Wuhan, but people all over were not allowed to drive or encouraged not to go out in public unless completely necessary for 10 days. They cancelled most Lunar new year celebrations - for example movies that usually play for the celebration were cancelled and aired on TV free so that people would stay inside and watch them.
Yeah it's scary I guess, but what's the point of living if you're scared of everything? Does that mean I'm going to inhale the air around an infected person? **** NO. But if you don't have a weak immune system you probably have nothing to worry about on a day to day basis. I'd be more concerned about catching the flu to be honest.

@CashBonus - FYI... The flu, or really any virus, can kill someone if their immune system is low. EG - Those outbreaks of gastroenteritis (virus) at nursing homes in Victoria and QLD in 2018, some residents of those homes died. It's why Gov., Health Dept., issue warnings for the elderly; babies; and anyone with a depleted immune system. EG - People receiving chemo etc, that treatment kills bad-cells but also good ones too. Hence those people will generally have a low immune system. As such, they are considered at risk, to these outbreaks too.
Oh and babies, well as they grow their immune system matures too. It becomes stronger. That's why the over prescription of antibiotics is frowned upon these days. It retards the bodies ability to naturally build up one's immune system.
Agree, well said.
Edit:
(I have no intention to watch the video)
When they say eating "live" animals... Is that to be taken literally?
Or are "live" animals kept alive at the places (like lobsters, crabs, fish etc., are kept alive in AU Chinese Restaurants) and patron select which animal they want to eat, and the kitchen kill it on the spot?

Also, people are being given antibiotics instead of antivirals for viruses, so a tolerance is being built to antibiotics. People think the antibiotics makes them better, but in fact they would have gotten better at the same rate if they took nothing. I wish there was a more broad education around this kind of thing. Same thing with the difference between influenza and a common cold. Most people say they have the flu, but they actually have a cold. It drives me nuts.
I saw the video - they are eating them alive. Literally alive. A man dipping a live mouse into some sauce that looks like egg yolk, and putting it straight into his mouth. Although thankfully you can't see his mouth and it cuts off just under his chin. Absolutely horrific.
FWIW my friend said that most Chinese people he knows thinks this is disgusting and that the markets who sell these animals are illegal. Doesn't make it any better but, you know..

A week or so ago, came across a vid on YT, where, a philosophy professor was talking about the virus. He made comment to their diet. He went on to explain that when communism gripped China, people were staving, especially in outlaying areas (country), so much so, they'd eat anything they could find. One example he gave... ripping apart a feather pillow, to eat the feathers.
