Correct wordpress home

I am making a new site and want to make sure I am my wordpress homepage correct. I am not sure if I should make a page home, index, or the keyword I a m going to use for that page (leaving the breadcrumb saying home).

I've always assumed that most people look for the words Home Page when they want to go to the main page of the site.

That's one way to look at it. Many brands, and I've done this myself, make the site logo clickable, leaving an extra tab for whatever. It's not "right there" to see, but when you have a breadcrumbs navigation system and a clickable logo, doubt you need to waste space for a home button. From another point of view, you could help the visitor this way remember your brand/logo as the image will soon get stuck in their head.

Even this forum or the GPWA in general has this and doesnt waste space with a Home button.

I'm doing the same, making the logo clickable and not having a textual home button. But if I need one, it says "Home".

I like it when websites use an icon of a house (such as this forum), and I really really hate the websites which don't have a link to the home page or it's difficult to find it.

Thanks guys. Let's say I make a page betting, and put that as my home page, and use betting as the button. Now myurl/betting doesn't exist. I'm not sure what the proper name is for a home page.

Do you mean what your menu will say? I use home when I name the page but that really doesn't matter when you set the homepage to be a static page in the settings of wordpress. You can name it pretty much whatever you want since that name doesn't appear but then I always make my homepage "link" to be what I want as my keywords. Example my site onlineslotshub.com is "best online slots". Another website about casinos is "USA Online Casinos".
