Crisis
We think to possible crisis that we'll have in Usa and in Europe or that we have.
First causis of the crisis is that many people ( est europe, india, china ... ) starts to live better.
Living better they have need of more food, energy and oil......
If we eat how one american we can be 3 bilions.
If we eat how one european we can be 5 bilions.
[ On Earth are about 8 milions ].
What do you think ? what is the price of the food when 3 bilions of person eat how one american ? or how one european ?
How you think to resolve this problem that there is in Europe and in Usa ?

Don't buy all you can read or see on TV about food and China, India etc.
The big financial funds are involved in a wild speculation on food commodities and they pay fake consultants, news campaigns etc.
The traditional agricultural countries are still in position to produce commodities for billions of persons without problems.
Right now the problems are the droughts and the oil prices due the wars. NOT people eating.

It is a problem for sure. Our oceans are being depleted at a significant rate and forests are being chopped down to make space to grow crops and raise cattle.
The biggest problem with becoming wealthy is that people expect a different type of diet which is more luxury (meat) based. Meat based diets consume 10 times more resources, land, and water.
Here are some interesting facts:
'Professor David Pimentel of Cornell University's Ecology Department has calculated that it takes 500 litres of water to produce 1kg of potatoes, 900 litres per kg of wheat, 3,500 litres per kg of digestible chicken flesh and a massive 100,000 litres for 1kg of beef.'
'a single dairy cow produces approximately 120 pounds of wet manure per day. Estimates equate the waste produced per day by one dairy cow to that of 20-40 humans per day.'
'Expansion of livestock production is a key factor in deforestation, especially in Latin America where the greatest amount of deforestation is occurring – 70 percent of previous forested land in the Amazon is occupied by pastures, and feedcrops cover a large part of the remainder.'
I could have found a lot more facts, but it's obviously a clear problem. Ethanol for cars is also increasing the extent of the problem.

It is true that if we eat less meat and more vegetable in Europe and the US, we will do something for the environmental protection, but not much to solve food problems in the poor countries, especially in Africa. We can do much more to help them if e.g. the European Union would stop subsidizing the food export of its agricultural industry to Africa, which is destroying the agricultural and fishing industry there. But, I am afraid, that won't happen because the lobby of the Agricultural Industry here is too strong to sabotage all such efforts.
