arkyt, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
When was this link disabled - has it been disabled for everyone?

Always used to be able to see it - was curious since the active numbers seem to be fluctuating and the cookie times seem to have been increased from the forum defaults....

Yes, I figured it was a permissions change

Possibly they may have installed a new mod or some tweak which did it and it wasn't something directed at me personally.

A few months back I had questioned inflated members stats and offered my opinion about the site not displaying active member numbers instead of just members, a number which was/is grossly inaccurate. Today when I noticed that the cookie time seemed to be increased I went back to check members and was unable to .... surely something that makes me go hmmmmmm.

It is a bit late but I saw this thread and wanted to make sure the questions got addressed:

    1) Arkyt, there are no special permissions changes on your account. They're the same as all public members.

    2) I didn't change any forum permission settings but there might have been a broader system change within the last few weeks that I wasn't away of. We try to keep up to date with new releases and patches for vBulletin, so my best guess without being able to talk with the tech department right now is that it might be based on an update to the version on vBulletin used.

    3) The cookie time is one hour. (vBulletin actually lists the cookie time in seconds, so it is formally "3600 seconds"). It hasn't been changed recently but there is some good chance it is different than the default because we received a lot of complaints early when we took over responsibility for the forum regarding the fact that new threads were marked "read" before people could actually go through them. The cookie length is what determines how long it takes before everything new is marked read. For me personally I know if I've been away from the forum for a few days I have to rush to try and go through everything before the "new" threads get cleared out as "read". If my recollections is correct I think there were some requests to make it longer than this with people mostly thinknig about it from the point of view of the new posts feature, but we kept it down to one hour as a compromise between the different lengths that were being suggested.
