    Post D'Amato not optimistic about a poker exemption

    New Poker Player's Alliance chairman Al D'Amato has told Card Player Magazine isn't sure whether a poker exemption can be carved out of the UIGEA this year.

    AJS: Do you think in 2007 that we have the ability to obtain a poker carve-out to the UIGEA?
    AD: I think you never give up. You set the stage. I’m not going to say that it’s going to be easy, or that it cannot be done. But I don’t want to give a false impression.

    his answer to the 2nd question sounds promising to me., almost as if he is interested in regulating all forms of internet gambing, and not only poker. i sure hope so. it will eventually happen i think. it is just a matter of when.
