Default Do You Ever Root Against Your Players (Sports)?

Speaking more specifically on sports betting. Might be bad form, but honestly me rooting for or against a players bets isn't going to change the outcome. The way I look at it is I get the same level of fun I used to when I bet on sports, but with the extra sadistic side of rooting specifically against someones bets.

I know most of the networks you can't see the players bets (at least the ones I promote mainly - RevNetwork, CommissionKings), but on old 5Dimes/new BetAnySports you can see what bets they have open. When a guy makes a huge 15 team teaser bet, it almost becomes a game of which of these bet(s) will be the one that busts it. Will he then reload and try again? Will this be the time he quadruples his money and screws my month?

Just thought I'd see if anyone else has too much time on their hands like me.

No, I've never done this or even thought about it really and I've never been able to actually see where they've placed their bets. You're right that it doesn't change the outcome, but I found your post interesting and it got me thinking more about how this system works.

To answer your question, I believe your player will definitely reload and try again. I've had a lot of my players lay dormant throughout the years in which I've been an affiliate and some of them are high rollers who keep making big deposits and they keep trying time and again to win big amounts. These players do end up winning a lot of money most of the months for me.

Generally you want people to win, especially to begin with (hence why we have welcome bonuses). We all know the house wins in the end.

Most of the programs we work with have no NCO so even if you do get cleaned out by a 15-fold acca you can start again next month and that player will probably then drop a lot of that back giving you more positive revenue the next month.

The only time I would root against a player is if they have already had a big win and I'm hoping for them to drop some of that back.

I havent the option to see the bets of my referred users. It could be cool to check that.

One question to @Mattbar. Can you please tell me which affiliate programs do you use, which dont have NCO? From my perspective most of the bookmakers (bet365, 1xbet) have negative carry over.

bet365 are one of only a handful we work with that have NCO these days and we only work with those as the account values are high enough to justify the odd negative month.

Yes, a lot of programs will tell you they will only work with NCO but then simply don't list them, nine times out of ten they end up coming back and offering no negative carry over to get listed. Main thing is stick to your guns, when asked what you need to list a brand make sure you are clear that having no NCO is non-negotiable.

I didn't realise there were programs where you can view the bet! Seems wrong that they allow that tbh.

But no I wouldn't really look at it as rooting for the house. I think the real name of the game is about building up that player base to the point where winners don't really affect your month. Wouldn't go as far as to say I'd root for the player but when I see a big player win these days I do always think ahh good on you... hope he withdraws and buys something nice.
