Do you have modern medicine to thank for your life?

Life is fragile. And, although it is far from perfect, modern medicine has saved many lives.

Personally, I have a deep respect and appreciation for modern medicine. Put simply, I would not be here today without it. And, earlier this week, J.Todd joined that club as well.

How about you? Has modern medicine saved your life? The life of someone in your family? A friend? A co-worker?

If you like, share a story of how modern medicine has made a difference to you.

Modern medicine has saved my friend JTodd and has saved members of my family including my wife who has Type 1 diabetes.

It's old world medicine that keeps me going...

It has saved my mothers life so far with clinical trials for lukemia

also It probably saved my life with the medicine they gave me when I had an Abscess that popped from my sugar level and thats when I found out I was a Diabetic

A few years ago my dad was in the operating theatre and one of the instruments made contact with his diaphragm and his heart started to beat really fast and then stopped. It took 4 minutes for them to start his heart again and revive him. When my mum told me and my brother about what had happened I was so worried about my dad, and kept thinking to myself how long 4 minutes is to go without a heartbeat.
He's going really well now, and takes the dog for walks every day and staying pretty active so it's lucky they kept trying and finally revived him.

I wish I could check all of the above .Currently Modern Medicine is keeping my brother with us for much longer than we thought we had..Five months has passed since he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and he is doing amazing.I will share the credit with the power of Prayer too as I have Friend all over praying for us and Special thanks to Daniel and Rick who sent some special gifts from the Holy Land .

could probably click all to be honest although Im not sure how close to death I was it sure felt like I was on my way out. I can also, im affraid to say, say that modern medicine hasn't been able to save some friends and family though which makes you realise what a gift life actually is

When my oldest daughter was 6 months old we were told she had meningitis. She was extremely ill to the point that the baby soft spot on the top of her head was pushing up in a cone shape with the pressure. Modern medicine in the form of fast acting antibiotics saved her life.

Afterwards, we were told she would have had about 20 minutes to live had they not injected the medicine directly into her head.

Amazing what humans have invented and achieved in so many differing areas, medicine being only one of them!!

Without Ritalin, I wouldn't have had this website, a drivers license, or a life..
And without modern medicine I would have had 1 less best friend and no father.
