This week Meta Verified was rolled out to brands on Instagram, Facebook and plans to roll it out on WhatsApp we also announced. This follows on the heels of twitter verified blue check announced earlier this year.

For this weeks poll I ask if you have a paid verified social media account and whether or not you plan to obtain one in the future.

Besides voting in the poll, I invite you to share your opinion of verified social media accounts.

Advertisers don't appear on social media website for the kudos, or the prestige, or because it's trendy, advertisers want people to see their ads.

GPWA is a forum, hence social media, so anyone paying for membership, is paying for social networks. Just my 2 cents.

No, I don't have a verified social media account, and I don't have any plans to get one. It doesn't provide any benefits that interest me for my personal life or my business.

If they introduce a feature that's compelling enough, I might consider it. But for now, it is pointless for me. If it comes to show some status, the blue check from the former Twitter lost its value when they made it available for everyone in exchange for a few bucks.

Personally, the checkmark used to make a difference to me, but only if I wasn't already following that account. Before, when I'd come across a post from an account I didn't follow and saw the blue check, I think I paid more attention than to a post from any random account. Now, it's as if I don't even notice it. Maybe it's a phenomenon similar to ad blindness?

I’d be interested to revisit this topic now we’re a couple of years down the line.

Personally I’ve resisted paying for X so far, however it’s pretty clear that the algorithm is favouring verified accounts and as a result those accounts will get more impressions, so I might have to bite the bullet.

Has anyone paid for Premium and seen enough upside to justify it?
