Default Do you inter link review pages?

    Hey,

Was wondering if people often link between review pages of casino / sportsbook brands.

At first glance, to me it makes sense to links between related blog post articles, guides, etc. which can mention some specific term or refer to a different subject that is better described on some different page.

Linking between brand review pages seems kind of far-fetched and the basis of this linking is not really convincing. So I was wondering what people think about this, as I guess there might be benefit to doing this. At the same time I guess there might be downsides to doing this the wrong way.

Internally I link reviews together but only where it is a relevant link, on the same principle of how you would link related blog posts and guides. For example, two brands in the same group can logically be linked together or if there was a previous relationship between them.

I think the main thing is being consistent. If you interlink a lot between blogs and guides it makes sense to link reviews where relevant IMO. I don't think it does any damage if those links are genuine reference links to more / different information.

Externally we will occasionally exchange a review link if someone is covering a brand in a different market to us, again because it is relevant for the user but I wouldn't link just any old review to someone else's for the sake of a link.

You mean you have a page 'xxxx casino review', and the question is whether to internal link on it to your 'yyyy casino review'?

I'd say the most obvious (and safest) way to do this (where it also makes logical sense and enhances the core focus of the xxxx casino review itself) would be in a comparison context (or, as Mattbar says, there is an obvious alternative relationship).

I think the only way it would harm a page is if your placement of the anchor to yyyy casino review is made in such a way that it could confuse a search engine. That would be unlikely if (as is the most likely scenario) the bulk of your xxxx page is focused on xxxx and it's clear that xxxx is the true subject.

Yes if they are sister casinos or if I want to make suggestions like 'you may also like'. Make sure it is not spammy, Google's HCU is no joke.

Sometimes I do it, but I try not to link more than one entry (maximum two) per page and that it is relevant to the reader.

If the links are internal and they are all working, I don't see any disadvantage if it is done wisely. In the end, one of our objectives is to offer the maximum value to the user so that they spend time on our website, and we are their first choice when looking for information and choosing where to play or bet.

When we offer them all the information they need in one place and make it easy to access, we decrease the likelihood that they will look for it on a competitor's site (or at least we try to).

I have never kept such statistics. So it`s difficult to say how often this happens but it happens for sure

Agree interlinking on a small scale when it makes sense but the question also arises, if the question pertains to on in page linking or whether that might also count the sidebar or (side-top-bottom) navigation.

I think interlinking within the site is a good thing to many sections of the site, whether other casino reviews, game reviews, other software reviews or even articles that may or may not be on the same topic.

Disagree. By linking to similar review pages, you can increase the amount of time a user staying on the site.

I guess I will try to find if any of my review pages can be logically linked with one another and see it that is going to have any effect on anything.
Of course, it is rarely possibly to understand what exactly is having an effect (especially given the fact that sometimes rankings and positions change for no apparent reason).

Does it improve the visitor experience in some way by given the reader further, relevant reading and the option to explore the topic further? If so than google should, in theory, reward that in some capacity.

I put an internal link on each post where some topics are better explained on another page, and when it will improve the user experience.

I agree that such placement of links doesn`t look very "honest" and trust is reduced

I only do it for casinos that are owned by the same operator. In that way, it makes IMO.
