Do you plan to attend the LAC and ICE shows in London in February 2016?

The largest gaming affiliate conference in the world is just over a month away (the London Affiliate Conference aka LAC taking place in London 4-7 February 2016), as is the largest gaming industry conference in the world (ICE Totally Gaming also taking place in London 2-4 February 2016).

Do you plan to attend one or the other or both of these conferences this year? And, if you hadn't caught the recent news, Clarion Gaming, who runs the ICE show, recently acquired iGaming Business, which runs the LAC show. So I expect we will see the beginning of a lot more cross-promotion between the two audiences. In fact, in future years it will be interesting to see if the shows remain distinct or merge together.

Share your plans for this year, and your thoughts about the merger of the companies running these shows.

In terms of the shows I've found ICE to be as important to me as LAC.

I've found getting information out of affiliate programs about the products I am promoting to be very difficult. Very few of the AM's really understand the product I promote, so ICE has become essential for me to build and maintain relationships with the software providers. I can whizz round and find out more in one day than I can get anywhere else.

The main difficulty I've had is over coming them not wanting to talk to me because I am not a sales lead. I completely understand that, but over the past few years I've managed to build some good relationships that have borne fruit for both sides.

As for the impact of the merger I have no thoughts other than the two shows essentially cater for different channels so I can't see how merging them would work for anyone.

I'm going to get over to ICE this time. I haven't been since it was at Earls Court.

I don't think it would be a good thing for the shows to merge simply because I think it would lessen the value for affiliate programs and managers. Trying to find an affiliate within thousands of people would be a nightmare.

We are exhibiting at LAC again too.

LAC for sure @ the 138.com stand with the affiliate team. I might go to ICE for the last day and the Fire and Ice party at night is my fav

50 / 50. If I haven't got much to do that time, I'll go there perhaps. I never was in the UK before and so I never was at LAC, so perhaps it's interesting to attend it.

We are 100% there .. Fast Track would love to hook up with old and new affiliates .. catch us anytime you see us and wed be happy to buy you a drink or 6 and have a chat affiliate managers feel free to take me up on this offer too always looking for new friends ...

Both for us, although much more time will be spent at LAC... ICE can hopefully give us some insight that affiliate programs don't (easily) give, even if it's just for content purposes.. looking forward to it..

ICE is massive and as nwalker stated, it has its benefits, i have been to it many times though and am sticking to LAC this time around. It is the biggest Conference of the year and all my energy is required. LAC Baby , bring it on.

Definitely LAC, was chatting to another affiliate about ICE a few weeks back although I've never paid it much attention, may have a deeper look this time round.

ICE you tend to meet more senior staff so deffo worth going to.
