Sometimes bans are necessary to force the general, and often ignorant, population to open their eyes to the health issues of smoking and over consumption of sugar. Smoking related health issues and obesity (too much soda) are putting pressure on public health resources.

Yes, but where it ends? Do you want your TV to go off after 3 hours per day or getting a fine for not running 3 times a week?
People should have the freedom to live their life - of course as long as they don't hurt others (that's exactly the difference between public smoking ban which makes sense to soda ban, which is insane).

I am unfortunately a smoker, but I support bans, because I don't want to threaten anybody by my own choice and guilty pleasure
But it's nice to have a separated smoking room.

In many land-based casinos I've visited so far (for example Hippodrome in London, Portomaso in Malta) there are smoking-allowed slot rooms, where you can smoke, have a drink and play slot machines. Vegas is crazy, you can smoke everywhere in casinos, except in the poker rooms. I admit it's great for me, but anyway, I respect separated rooms more.

Here in Serbia you can smoke almost everywhere (even inside the restaurants or cafes) except in malls for example or institutes and public buildings.

PS. I find smoking area on the conferences great place for business and great opportunity to start a chat.

    In the elevators wow :O
But thinking of the past, when you seat in some older bus in Serbia, you can still see small trays on the seat in front of you. Sounds crazy and hard to imagine, but smoking was allowed even in the buses, long time ago.
Now, sometimes, drivers open their window and smoke xD Wild west!

My dance school is inside a greek centre in sydney and all the old men smoke in the lift. It's gross actually. They can't even wait to get outside.

Most casinos are big enough that they can have a smoking and a non-smoking section in the casino. I am a smoker so of course I want the casinos to allow smoking - "Share the Air" however a non smoking area should be provided. Even as a smoker I cannot stand having smoke in my face or rude smokers who do not even try to keep smoke to themselves. Also if you look around a high limit area in most casinos, you will see a lot of smokers and cigar smokers. Unless it passes as a state law I cannot see many casinos completely banning smoking.

Lol, maybe that's why they still highlight that "smoking on this flight is not allowed" and keep that sign turned on during the whole flight

For sports betting places smoking is a must, nothing beats the feeling of placing a coupon at a land based bookmaker and then grab a beer and a smoke while watching the game.
