A VPN solves this issue in theory, certainly gets around what the UK government are doing, but having looked at it closely and tested one out I still can't see any reason why I should trust a Panama-based VPN company (or any other)? Literally the only information on the VPN companies seems to be user-experience ie: well-meaning articles by journalists who have done the same as me or just meaningless affiliate bollox. The VPNs state they keep no records of anything at all, but who actually knows what they are doing. Would be a good business for a government to run. I won't be logging into anything that matters via a VPN anytime soon.
