Since one of the primary objectives of the GAU is arbitration, I would like to see the GAU take a proactive stance with eCogra in regards to their Grand Prive investigation.
I would like to see the GAU making contact with eCogra on our behalf to point out our issues regarding their approach to the GP investigation.
What are the issues?
From my perspective, i see the following problems;
1. The Dec 21 deadline to file a claim.
Not practical and unnecessary. GP must have a database that contains contact details for their affiliates - eCogra can and should use that to communicate with all affiliates who were affected by the closure. As it stands, GP will only have to settle up with a small percentage of affiliates. This is obviously not right. It's absolutely unfair to those affiliates who do not frequent the forums to be excluded from the investigation.
2. The claim form itself.
There is no need to require affiliates to file a claim. See point 1 for the reason why. The sole reason for implementing a deadline and forcing affiliates to file a claim is clearly to limit the number of claims/amount of the settlement.
3. Future revenues from players.
The eCogra press release does not refer to claims for lost future earnings. This needs to be addressed. Surely there's a way to calculate potential lost earnings based on historical data. The only fair settlement must include a buy-out amount for the players we sent them and who continue to wager at GP.
I encourage all affected affiliates to add to this discussion.
I encourage the GAU to jump on this opportunity to help your members receive a fair settlement.
