    EU & Brazilian Crackdowns?

Online gambling developments affecting affiliates this week
include growing regulatory scrutiny of prediction markets in Europe,
with several regulators taking a tougher stance on the emerging sector.
Meanwhile, in Brazil, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has authorized
stronger enforcement measures aimed at the country's
    illegal online gambling market.

The increasing taxes, affordability checks, and constant regulatory back-and-forth are a nuisance, but you mentioned something that actually worries me more, going to only digital currency. I don't know if I'll see it in my lifetime, but I find it dystopian.

My forecast: prediction betting will grow fast, but it will not stay in a “grey area” for long. Regulators will increasingly treat it like gambling when users can win or lose money based on sports, politics, entertainment, or real-world events.

In the US, I think prediction markets will try to stay under financial-market regulation, especially through the CFTC. Recent reports already show movement toward formal rules that could allow sports-style event contracts, while banning more sensitive markets such as war, assassination, manipulation-prone props, injuries, or referee decisions.

In Europe, I expect a much harder line. Several regulators are already coordinating against unlicensed prediction markets, and Spain has temporarily blocked Polymarket and Kalshi for operating without gambling licences.

So the likely future is: Prediction markets will not disappear, but they will split into two models. Licensed, regulated platforms will survive in major markets, with KYC, age checks, limits, responsible gambling tools, advertising rules, and possibly taxes similar to sportsbooks. Offshore or crypto-style platforms will keep operating, but will face blocking, payment restrictions, affiliate warnings, and enforcement.

It was a great news as always BUT the bloopers were hilarious lol.
