Well this post was originally in the moderation que for a bit.

First of all this site had a pr1 when I checked it....a teensy bit away from a 6.

Also, not sure active this individual plans to be here....and that usually scores points with other members....since he has only posted abouyt links so far.

Taking a look at the site itself...I have to say it is a really nice looking directory and I am considering listing a site in the directory...

Link directories will surely get you Penguined! I suggest people do not use directories - seriously. Promoting these tihngs nowadays or condoning them is slightly what i would call unethical

Why do you think so. It is a niche directory and Penguin loves all kind of niche backlinks.

Seriously site directory backlinks aren't the spammiest link you can get.

Are you saying that a backlink from DMOZ or Yahoo Directory is a bad thing ?

Well for starters its a link exchange - its well knowing now exchanging links is just bad. The rest needs no discussion - anything with "exchange" is just asking for trouble.
