Exchanges monitoring crypto spending possibly

I have had Coinbase close my account years ago after sending funds for promotions, not 100% directly related to casino's but close enough to possibly shut it down. The only explanation I was given was breaking of terms, and was directed to take my funds out. I even followed up a year later and was not able to get an answer. Not sure if they knew my business or if it was by sending to some known address?

The main question I am getting to is this, I am writing a guide for my users to begin using crypto, last thing I want to do is have them use an exchange, get setup and have it closed. I would recommend using a local wallet of some type for dealing with casinos but I am interested if others have had Coinbase or other wallets close accounts because of gaming before I make suggestions to my gamblers.

I was permanently banned from cashapp years ago (after being a long customer and getting my instant purchase withdrawalable BTC limit lifted to like $10k or $20k a day) for gambling related activity like 5 years ago.

The answer is what you said, local wallet.

Doesn't matter where you buy from, local wallet is always the answer. Better general practice as well for crypto management.

Back in 2015 I was permanently banned from Circle as well, wasn't even gambling, it was because LocalBitcoins wasn't licenced in the U.S.(was a shame, I was making off like no ones business on arbitrage trades back then, bitcoin was still the wild west and margins then are unheard of now, and on top of it was getting like 2% cashback every bitcoin purchase with my paypal business card before I was banned from there as well, I could get money out of paypal into bitcoin in like 10 minutes flat, was quite the holy grail for localbitcoins trading at the time, had like 300btc in trades lol)

Anyway, yes, local wallets(or decent third party wallets if not a full local qt wallet), back up restore phrase and keys. (my atomic wallet went down yesterday, but was still able to move my coins from my wallet externally with no problem using coinb.in making a hex code signal to the chain from scratch with the code generated with my private key, I'd recommend exodus over atomic too many issues).

In context of gambling sites, a get-started guide should recommend a player use their own wallet seperate from exchange wallet for deposits and withdrawals, and info about backing up the recovery information.

Looking for suggestions on local / offline and hardware wallets to include, electrum seems to throw a lot of malware bytes alarms so not sure i want to use that one.
