Question Excluding Google, which search engine brings you the most traffic?

Google remains the 800 pound gorilla for search engine traffic to most sites. But I've been surprised to see what a major roll other search engines can play in driving traffic to websites.

For the GPWA website, whose traffic is generally from webmasters and others that are fairly Internet savvy, Google dominates with 96% of organic search traffic to the site. Trailing far behind are Yahoo with 1.25%, AOL with 0.80%, Bing with 0.69% and then a whole host of tiny search engines with even smaller contributions.

But for one consumer-oriented online gaming site of ours I looked at, the organic search traffic referrals were very different: Google 52%, Yahoo 24%, Bing 20%, AOL 1.1%, Ask 0.85%

So, I thought it was worth asking what search engine, besides Google, is most important for traffic to your sites? And besides answering the poll question, share how important other search engines are to you, and how that has changed over time.

Good question. For us it is Bing but even that is less that 1% of total traffic.

When Bing first came about it was a case of trying to gain as much from them as possible but it just hasn't clicked for us on that search engine, I expect the same for many others, in fact I'd love to find out if anyone has a site that receives a higher percentage of traffic from Bing that Google.

We've actually seen a few searches from three, unsure whether it's one person search a few times, but seemed new to me.

Yes Google is the Monster. Surprisingly I have found AOL slowing creeping up past some of the other search engines and is now #2 for my main site. MyWebSearch is number 3 which I had never heard of then Ask and Yahoo. Bing must not like me???
