It is with great sadness that I make this post.
Nandakishore was a member of the GPWA that I considered to be a personal friend. I had met with him at many conferences, and I always enjoyed our conversations and looked forward to catching up with him.
I had tried searching on the web on-and-off, but was never able to find anything out. But then I don't speak German, or understand German web resources very well, so this past week I asked Leopold if he could investigate for me. I trust Leopold to search doggedly for information. Here is the report he made to me:
Those of you who are old-time members of the GPWA may remember that we published an interview with Nandakishore in the second issue of the GPWA Times Magazine back in October 2007.On November 2013 Hannelore, the wife of Mr. Banerjee, died at the age of 79. I found the lovely obituary in the archive of Bavarian's biggest newspaper.
No children are listed on the obituary and there is standing, that she died "after a long and heavy period of suffering with admirable patience and serenity", obviously cancer.
After this heavy stroke he still lived at the address you gave me. It's a 4-storey apartment block with 16 apartments.
Last sign of life in the internet is from 14. January 2014, visiting the [last time?] public memorial place for his wife.
Later in 2014 he started a trip to India. Mr. Banerjee never came back, because he died during the vacation in India at the age of 78. This is the reason why nearly all traces in Germany vanished. Cause of death is unknown to me.
