    Unhappy Farewell to Nandakishore Banerjee

It is with great sadness that I make this post.

Nandakishore was a member of the GPWA that I considered to be a personal friend. I had met with him at many conferences, and I always enjoyed our conversations and looked forward to catching up with him.

I had tried searching on the web on-and-off, but was never able to find anything out. But then I don't speak German, or understand German web resources very well, so this past week I asked Leopold if he could investigate for me. I trust Leopold to search doggedly for information. Here is the report he made to me:

On November 2013 Hannelore, the wife of Mr. Banerjee, died at the age of 79. I found the lovely obituary in the archive of Bavarian's biggest newspaper.

No children are listed on the obituary and there is standing, that she died "after a long and heavy period of suffering with admirable patience and serenity", obviously cancer.

After this heavy stroke he still lived at the address you gave me. It's a 4-storey apartment block with 16 apartments.

Last sign of life in the internet is from 14. January 2014, visiting the [last time?] public memorial place for his wife.

Later in 2014 he started a trip to India. Mr. Banerjee never came back, because he died during the vacation in India at the age of 78. This is the reason why nearly all traces in Germany vanished. Cause of death is unknown to me.
Those of you who are old-time members of the GPWA may remember that we published an interview with Nandakishore in the second issue of the GPWA Times Magazine back in October 2007.

    I'll miss you friend!

    Wow,

Thanks for the update and sorry to hear how the investigation turned out. (special thanks to Leopold for finding this out)

I never got the chance to meet him at a conference, but we talked many times here at the forum as well as in PM's etc.

My prayers go to any family and loved ones he may have had.

Thank you Mr C and Leopold for your research. I know that some of us had been wondering.

Nan was a very kind and dear man. His thoughtfulness couldn't help but shine through. I'm grateful I've had the pleasure to have met him online.

I only knew him through the forum - he certainly was a clear thinking gentleman with a wide raft of experience.
At nearly 80 years of age - he certainly experienced a full life - and seemed content in his situation.

    Goodbye sir.

I met Nanda back in Prague at the supershow when it was there.
I'm quite sad to read this. We always exchanged emails and MSN when it was around although I'd lost contact with him and I think even last week was wondering where he had vanished to.

I suppose it's only natural that as we get older this happens more often. In the ten years I've been at Rewards I've seen so many affiliates leave us.

    Very sad day indeed

Mr. Banerjee was not only a philanthropist. He was also very much appreciated author already in his early years. The creative output was more than just writing about gambling.

In 1970 he wrote the book "Der Prolog im Drama der deutschen Klassik: Studien zu seiner Poetik" ("The prologue in drama of German classicism: Studies on the poetics"). This extraordinary oeuvre was used later as a reference in the book "The feminist encyclopedia of German literature".

During my investigation it quickly became clear, how special he was to many people. Nandakishore Banerjee leaves behind a large empty space.

I met Nandakishore a couple of times and like many others chatted with him a lot over Skype/MSN.

I worked through many changes with him on his site over the years and will remember him as a clever, decent bloke who wanted to do best for his site and visitors to his site and also for having possibly the best name in affiliate marketing. We chatted a lot about his site and redesigns over the years and he was always a happy man, even through his health issues.

    Rest in peace NB.

that is sad news. I did not know him persoanlly but I guess I helped him with a virus probem back in 2010. https://www.gpwa.org/forum/i-need-ur...lp-192269.html

I'm sorry to say I was a little shot with him thinking he ignored my post but in the end it was nothing and apologies exchanged. He kept calling me slotworld which when I read back just now, makes me chuckle. Amazing how the years are just flying by. He seemed like a real good guy.
