I agree, it is getting very frustrating to use this forumMaybe, but this seems rather persistant and is actually putting me off from using the forums, I would think a number of other members would feel the same way.

Perhaps put a limit to the number of posts for new signups? 1 post per 24 hours for new signups/members?

I do not feel the same way, because I know, that even Anthony and Rick need some sleep from time to time, and perhaps one should take a look at his multi-time-zones-clock to understand, that e.g. right now it is in the middle of the night in the USA and the people are sleeping.
Every spam with 99% chance will be removed within 18 hours here, so what is the problem?
If one says, looking at a thread title from China for some hours put him off from the using the forum, then this is his decision, but I can't follow this logic, because I am not here to wait and complain about spam that will be removed within 18 hours.
I am here to share my views about everything, to help and to remove the real enemy to the people, that means bad programs, bad representatives, the whole bunch of losers from this industry.
This takes longer than 18 hours, but it remains and makes a forum also to that place what the ancient founders from Rome thought it should be.
Have patience with forum staff on the internet regarding spam. Don't forget: You are using all the forums for free. So Quid Pro Quo is the least. Your giving is patience.

Your idea is not bad Sweetbet, but in cases there is a newbie with an urgent problem and she/he needs to post a follow-up or a answer to a question and this is not possible, only after very long 24 hours, you know, how long 24 hours can be, especially if a program refuses to payout ...Originally Posted by sweetbet

Going by what Leopold has said would it not be possible to set it so they can only start one thread per day instead of posts.

I think this is new XRumer 16.0 Elite + XEvil
It was announced on January 2017. New model.
XEvil, as i know is the special modul for XRumer, who may read Google Capthcha without any problem.
Try to use Question > Answer. But don't use Question > Answer like 8+1=? This software may count.
No Rick, this is new XRumer 16 + XEvil. Try Question > Answer, but don't use digits.

thanks for your thoughts Leopold
thanks Moonlight for the insight in the new version of xrummer
Yes we usually get the spam off in 18 hours...most often less although there have been a few times we were trying to study patters we didn't get it removed as fast as we like but we have a little better co-ordination with the tech staff on at least getting it unapproved and are trying to get the accounts banned as fast as we can.
We have managed to slow it down a little and are trying to block the worst offending subnets when we can....

Banning users, ips / deleting threads / posts that is something that used to work in the past and these bots have improved to read captcha and register accounts without any problem.
Now it is up to you do you really want to ban / delete these spammers each and every day seems a total waste of time to me?
Or just approve new accounts within 24 hours to speed it up you might add a security question : what is the first letter of the word GPWA etc ?
good luck
Cash Bonus (12 July 2017)
You definitely do raise some good and valid points here GCG!
I hope the GPWA finds a better way around this spam trouble very soon.
We once again apologize for the spam issue, but even though we have taken action on accounts as well as the signup process some are still getting through.
All new accounts should be going through a moderated status (until we find a more permanent solution) but some how a few are making it into non moderated.
Making additional comments in other threads is NOT helping (since most often by the time someone reads the comments the spam has been identified and removed anyway) and those threads should stay on the original topics, and like was previously mentioned, in most cases the spam that does get through is most often removed within hours.
We apologize and thank you for your understanding as this is a topic of discussion since we want a permanent solution also.

Bear with us I may have discovered why some of the spam posts are still getting through, i will make sure Anthony discusses my findings with Alan and the tech staff as soon as possible

The spam is back again! I really thought that it was gone for a while there...![]()
I'm very happy to see that there have been no more spam issues for quite some time now.
A big thank you to Anthony, Michael, Rick and to everyone else who made this possible.
