I don't dispute that a lot of uproar is a good thing, but I think expecting something at the federal level is a bit unrealistic. The UIGEA doesn't even prohibit anything that wasn't already illegal anyway, and it creates a perfect framework for a state-based system that would permit states like Utah to be as restrictive as they wish or states like Nevada to be as liberal as they wish. And frankly, Goodlatte's revision of the Wire Act-- the final nail in the coffin-- would have a greater chance at succeeding at the federal level than a UIGEA repeal or a regulation bill.
It took over ten years for prohibition supporters to finally craft a bill that pleased all the major interest groups. A nationwide regulatory bill would probably meet more opposition from interest groups than the prohibition bills did, and it isn't likely to succeed in just or two Congresses.
My point is that the uproar would be better directed at the state level than the federal level.

Personally I think regulation is a whole lot closer than one might think now, but only time will tell.

I strongly feel we need to do what we can to be heard. I have written my Rep and will again tomorrow. I will be writing an article today. Since I am not politically inclined I will most likely use laymans terms for others like myself. I have found a helpful link here and there is permission to use it.

Anyone that would like to link articles feel free to give me a shout.
I'm also open to suggestions as this is new to me.
Thanks everyone for the helpful input!
