Default Free Demo Games - Honest Advertising Material?

Free Demo Games - Honest Advertising Material?

Is Free Demo Games on affiliate sites is honest advertising material from your point of view? As we all know, UKGC now forbiden advertising with "free bonuses", "free spins" e.t.c because this advertising misleads players from UKGC point of view.

But what about free demo games on affiliate sites? From one side, andybody may play this free games without any registration or age verefications. But from another side - people don't play for real money in these games. This is the same as free casino/slots app. Yes, visitors may catch big win on free games and sign-up for real money play after that. But this is the goal of each advertising.

From another side, if this is free demo games from licensed provider (i talk only about this type of games), they have the same mathematic as real money games. If player play free demo games on long distance he always see the one and only one results - they lost all money. Any player may check any "winning" strategy and system on free demo games and understand, that they did't work. They do not need to make real money deposit for understand this.

So, what is your point of view?

I believe the whole UKGC thing got blown out of proportion. There are plenty of campaigns like this on the TOP 2 KILLERS in this world, alcohol and cigarettes. Try a glass of free beer, free wine, try our ciggs, whatever. None of them say, hey if you go over the board with them it will lead to addiction.

From my point of view, free demo games are just that, free demo games. There's no locked portions of the game, forcing you to pay. That's free-mium, which is way more misleading.

I know some people around here wanna make gambling seem the worst thing in the world, when in fact gambling with money you can afford lose, and purely for fun is just a leisure activity. Putting the entire blame on the industry and promotions reminds me of those people blaming McDonalds for "making" them overweight.

So no I do not believe they r misleading, unless you advertise them with some Get Rich Quick scheme.

In my experience, very few people who play on the free play games even click through to a casino, never mind sign up and make a deposit. If you're searching for 'play roulette for free', you're very unlikely to be searching for a new casino to play for real money. It's a volume game and if you get enough traffic, the 0.01 CTR may get you some customers - in the long term. But most will be happy to just play for free.

And, as you say, the maths on a free play game means that players can quickly debunk any Martingale based 'system' being peddled on ebay etc without losing any money.

Which is quite the opposite of the FOBTs, where the owner can set a payout rate which is fixed and totally at odds with probability.

Yes, i know. Because o wrok in "Free Demo Games" niche last several years. This traffic is not easy to convert. It need are lot of time and traffic. But anyway i like this niche. And i am affraid that UKGC may forbid this type of advertising. Today i read at this forum, that this is possible. "Free Demo Games" is far away from "Free Bonuses" and "Free Spins", but who know what UKGC guys think.

'Free' demo games is an accurate description. 'Free' bonus money is not, as it's always subject to wagering requirements. It's not the word 'free' that's the problem, it's inaccurate usage that the UKGC will clamp down on.

    I think we'll be fine...

I agree with the others - they are "FREE" games. I look at free demo games as sort of a "try before you buy" product promotion tool. If you gonna spend money on service/product don't you want to have a test first? touch it, smell it, try it to see if this is what you want. Of course, the answer is yes.
Should we worry about age verification - I think it's irrelevant here as there's no real money wagering involved.
The UK is becoming this overregulated market that will take the fun part out of being in this industry. Gambling is gambling - everyone knows what it is for. It's entertainment for grown-ups and if you can't afford it or can't control yourself, simply don't do it. I think it's quite simple.

They are in my opinion. As long as it's a free version that is, except the fact that you play for free, exactly the same as the real version. A free version with a higher hit frequency would be misleading in my opinion. Perhaps you should call it "Demo games" instead of "Free games". "Free games" might suggest that you can play for free with real money.

Free games are great ! Peeps can spin until they catch every feature of the game without spending any cash ! So how can that be unfair ?
Yes, they can not win real cash, but also can't lose any real cash. And also usually can play all the games without even having to register !
Gambling City (get monthly cash back on your casino, bingo and sports loses)

Yeah, free games are a great feature for users to try things out before deciding to sign up with a site to actually play for real.

I think what's much worse than regular free games are the Android and iOS apps that let users play slots for a virtual currency. Even though there is no chance to win anything, many players actually spend tens or hundreds of dollars on the virtual currency, so that they can play more.

Regular free games might have some morality issues, but these apps are much, much worse in my opinion.

i want to open a big secret, theres a lot of people who spend a pot of money for donation in online mmo RPG . and they don't have nothing back(i talking about money).
So, from my side - free demo games - it's just one of the way to relax and feel better, it's not dangerous because everybody take decision by them self!

I think I got to agree with the majority: free games is a great way to promote and give the player a "taste" of the product before he buys. Many people would love to play casino games or learn to play them, but hesitant to spend money. Give them a sense of winning, let them warm up.

I have to agree with blackjackzilla here. The other important factor to consider is that most people prefer to play downloadable games and there are also some who prefer to play instant games instead. I have had many players playing only for fun. Later on, these same players have become tempted enough to become real players and play for real money. I still have them making new deposits many years later and bringing in a lot of good affiliate commissions I always test all of my links just to be sure that they're going to work for anyone else who comes across them. Never give up on hope, Moonlight Cat. I know that our industry has become much more competitive than it was even just a couple of years ago and we as affiliates just have to find a way to keep moving forward.
