L'Autorité nationale des Jeux (ANJ) has been granted the power to block any unlicensed gambling website from operating in France.
The law was signed into law on 2 March ans also includes a number of measures related to combating match-fixing.

This legislative development is a major step forward in the fight against the illegal offer of gambling in France, which the ANJ has made a priority project for 2022. These decisions were previously subject to the common law of administrative decisions, which provides for the entry into force of the decision the day after its publication. In the event of serious and concordant indications of manipulation weighing on a sporting event, this new article gives the ANJ the necessary reactivity to neutralize suspicious bets before the start of the match
