Frustrated, any advice on building more traffic?

Hey guys..
Last month I finally got some refferals.. and some despositing players.. all in all I did well.. BUT for some reason this month.. I've got only 5% of last month!!

I've been trolling over webstats.. looking for clues.. and I have found that my SERP are slightly better.. than before on G, less on Yahoo.. , slightly less on MSN..

I've tried advertising on adbrite.. Little or no conversions just sign ups from Romania.. and countries I've only seen in high school geography classes.

I build incomming links at a moderate pace, not too fast.. about 150 per month.. my next PR update is going to be around PR4 (maybe PR5), but you never know..

If I knew then what I know now, I would have certainly stuck with the conventional casino portal as opposed to taking on an online casino site.

Anyway..
Anyone have any ideas non-organic marketting that have been useful??
OR does everyone mainly stick with organic methods??
Any ideas or guidance would be appreciated..

I launched my site almost a month ago but payments are also below the expectations - even though I don't have any basis to compare. What I thought to have as a reason is that summer has arrived in the most competitive markets and people are rather travelling than playing in their room at home. I just do the casino affiliate thing, but I found the best results I get are from writing articles and doing anything and everything I can to get links. Though right now my link count is low, the few links I've gotten have been a tremendous help in higher rankings! The problem with anything related to online casinos is that it's a very very crowded market (both affiliates and casinos). Anyway, I wish you luck with it. It looks like you have a nice professional site. I'm sure the users will come over time.

1. Press release;
2. Viral Marketing: create a free but useful ebook on gambling tips with link back to your websites. Give away to your readers and other webmasters. Encourage them pass to others;
3. Set up a log;
4. Get listed in directories, especially DMOZ and Yahoo!
5. Post your articles in articles directories like ezinearticles.com, let other webmasters to reprint your articles.

Cylai has some good advice, though getting listed in DMOZ is a very frustrating experience. It can take many many months to get listed just based on the huge number of applications they get daily. You almost have to volunteer to become an editor to even have a chance these days. Oh... and #3 I think you meant to wreite Blog and not log.

yes getting listed in DMOZ can be a frustrating experience and sometimes not worth the efforts. in fact, links from .gov and .edu sites are pretty valuable too and help you big deal in ranking boost.

Honestly, there aren't going to be many .gov or .edu links that are going to be themed gambling links.

however, notice that howaday many universities offer webspace to their students. looks something like this:
http://www.universityname.edu/johnsmith

If you have college friends, try to persuade them to link to your site . what about a beer/pizza for a link?

Blog.. I haven't done that yet.. I was thinking about making a forum. After looking into it, your right I think in my position a blog would be more helpful tool in promoting.

I submitted a DMOZ listing months ago.. and still waiting..

What I have been doing is building links like mad, with descriptive incoming anchor text. However, I think my goal is NOT to have links from a .gov site.. LOL..

two popular blog types are : Blogger.com & wordpress. I recommend blogger.com as it's owned by google and hence got crawled pretty fast by google too!
