If you are heading to Las Vegas for G2E, make sure you pack your face mask as well as your vaccination card.
The Global Gaming Expo announced today that it will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend the 2021 show at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas from 4-7 October. Proof of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the FDA or authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO will be required for all exhibitors, attendees, speakers, media, and AGA and RX staff.
From the press release:
As we announced earlier this month, GPWA and APCW members is free as long as you register in advance by 17 September (otherwise the early registration fee if you just visit the G2E website is $229). Beginning on 18 September, the registration fee goes up to $299 and it will no longer possible to register for free GPWA and APCW member access. If you do not plan to attend to event live in Las Vegas, there is a virtual option available this year.“Our highest priority for G2E 2021 is providing a safe and productive event for the global gaming industry,” said Meredith Pallante, vice president, global events at the AGA. “We know how important vaccines are to continuing gaming’s strong recovery. Vaccinations are also one more tool to help us safely welcome the industry back to Las Vegas for another fantastic show.”
The new requirement—supported by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers—further aligns G2E with Nevada’s guidance regarding COVID-19 mitigation and reflects the changing state of the pandemic across the country.
“We know how enthusiastic the gaming community is about G2E 2021 and we also understand the importance of hosting an event where everyone feels as safe as possible,” said Korbi Carrison, G2E event director. “We are continuously following government and public health guidance and having data-driven conversations with health and safety experts to guide our decision making. We’re thankful for exhibitors’ and stakeholders’ continued support throughout this process.”
