Default GAMBLING BILL GOING TO SENATE THURSDAY!

This was sent to me from Profreedom.com. PLEASE PUT THE LINKS ON YOUR SITE, we need everyone to do this. Thanks everyone for putting the profreedom banners on your site. Justin.

We need your help! After nearly a month of quiet, those trying to ban Internet gambling have officially restarted their efforts, this time in the U.S. Senate. On Thursday, July 31st, the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee will vote on the bill, S. 627, the so-called Unlawful Internet Gambling Funding Prohibition Act.

We need your help. This is one of our last chances to keep the government's hands off the Internet. After the House of Representatives passed this bill a month ago, we need to make our voices heard. We need to contact our Senators and tell them to vote against this bill.

Please log on to http://www.profreedom.com to send a letter and be sure to tell everyone you know to send one too!

I don't really understand what they are trying to do. If they make it illegal to base an online casino in America, they will be moved to other countries out of american control. If they try to restrict on-line payments, then players will find alternatives. If they try to force restrictions through domain naming then America will lose control of that as well.

They are trying to do the same sort of things in the adult industry, and there are already signs of site movements to Europe and payments in Euros instead of dollars.

Unfortunately it isnt as simple as the companies just moving offshore. Although this act is aimed at funding online gambling, legislation could effectively make it a felony for an American citizen to gamble online and losing the American market would spell disaster for many casinos and gambling portals. Yes there are other markets - Europe for example but there is just not enough of a market to sustain the current number of casinos and portal sites. In the UK we are lucky to have a government who is relatively lenient on online gambling and can see the untapped potential (although theoretically I believe it is still illegal to promote gaming over here) although a major shakeup is planned in the near future. Do not under estimate the impact of this vote - it could spell disaster for many sites. Im sending the profreedom thing out with my newsletter today and updating my sites - everyone should do the same.

So what will they do - lock up all the on-line players.

What about buying things on Ebay? - that's a gamble. Is that going to be illegal as well. No more on-line share dealing or stuff like that either.

Oh yes, I forgot. Didn't they once make alcohol illegal - maybe they've forgotten what happened then.

Unfortunately they're not thinking very logically at all with this issue - it's mostly some US Representatives trying to score points with the minority. :shake:

We need to urge EVERY US Citizen to contact their Senators TODAY!!

Maybe it would have more effect if I wrote to them urging them to do it so that casinos are removed from American control.

Default Once someone finds out info, please pass it along

I haven't heard anything on cnn or anything like that. I am going to be checking it out all day! If anyone hears anything before I post it please post your information. Thanks and we hope the us will not make a big mistake.

To everyone that is out of the country, you have to realize why the US is doing all of this. First, they are loosing all of the money, It is just leaving the US, no where to be found. The governement is swamped with online casino complaints about people who lost there money. There is alot of money laundering involved, just like in vegas! But in general it's the money and these representitives that think by doing this they are protecting citizens from this evil of gambling online. Don't even get me started about the lottery. You have better odds of getting hit by a space object than winning! If this passes in the US, then England will probably follow. But lets hope then don't. Please put the banners on your sites. Hopefully will spread good news soon, Justin.
