    Exclamation Gamesys Affiliates Account closure...

Got this email... They have closed my account without any serious reason. It's just their decision, so beware....

Btw, I have some high profile players there. It seems to me, that they don't want to pay commission because I'm not delivering them such good players now... What a pity...

At Gamesys, we pride ourselves on putting the player at the forefront of everything that we do, including by ensuring that all of our marketing meets all of our regulatory obligations. In order to maintain these high standards and in light of regulatory developments across the industry, we have been reviewing our Affiliate Programme to ensure continued compliance with all consumer, marketing and data protection requirements.

As a result of this review, we have taken the decision to continue working only with a reduced number of affiliates. We have therefore taken the decision to close the accounts of Affiliates that have not had any payment-generating activity on their account since 1 January 2017.

Your account has been identified as meeting this criterion, so we hereby serve notice to terminate your account in accordance with clause 13.3 of our Terms and Conditions, effective from 30th October 2018.

Please ensure you cease using all of our advertising materials and remove any existing materials on your websites and social media pages by 30th October 2018.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help in supporting and promoting our brands throughout the course of our relationship.

They closed my account too but must say that I never worked actively with them. In the past I had a few players, but like two years I didn't have any commission anymore.

A bit a bullshit argument. I do not have any banners or promotions of them live, so no idea how I could be non-compliant.

As part of this review, we have provided guidance to all affiliates about their obligations together with a supportive team to assist with any queries. However, we have determined from our communications that some affiliates are increasingly struggling to adapt to the constantly developing regulatory landscape.

Consequently, whilst we appreciate the efforts of all of our affiliates, we will now continue working only with a reduced number of affiliates who we are confident will be able to comply with the applicable regulations.

At this time, we have taken the decision to terminate your account and hereby serve notice in accordance with clause 13.3 of our Terms and Conditions, effective from 30th October 2018. Any unpaid amounts that remain due to you will be made by 15th November 2018, provided that you have updated your payment details on your Gamesys Affiliates Account by 29th October 2018.

Please ensure you cease using all of our advertising materials and remove any existing materials on your websites and social media pages by no later than 30th October 2018.

If you believe that your marketing activity is compliant with the latest legislation, then we may consider a new application to join our Affiliate Programme outlining your approach to marketing alongside a commercial proposal providing the estimated scale of the activity you would run.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help in supporting and promoting our brands throughout the course of our relationship.

    Best Wishes,

First post, I'd hoped it would be in happier circumstances.

I have admittedly not been able to dedicate time to my site since the summer due to other interests that, in all honesty, make more money.

    However, this is pretty low.

As someone with broadcast media experience, I made clear efforts to make sure my site is compliant and that the content is of a higher standard than many from the get-go. So to put all that 'we pride ourselves' guff in the preamble and then close the account based on lack of revenue is a complete nonsense.

Clearly, as seen from above, they've decided to close the majority of accounts and then picked the reason which fits best.

So I've removed everything already and will recommend all future visitors to avoid.

FreeSpins, have you spoken to your affiliate manager about this issue and tried to come to some sort of a resolution?

I got this email too, which is annoying as I've been promoting them for 15 years.

Pretty clear what they are doing, closing active accounts to save money in the long run. So much for life-long earnings... unethical to say the least!

Yes, but I hear only silence... I'm going to report this to the UK Gambling Commission, since they should also protect affiliates!

Btw, regulation of the gambling market was supposed to improve this market, and as it turns out, it spoils even more ...

Yes, absolutely. That's what the UK Gambling Commission should be doing, offering protection for its affiliates and always looking out for their best interests. Keep us posted and good luck.

This is easily as bad as what Sky did. It follows the same pattern too, bring in an FTD monthly quota, affiliates reduce exposure, eventually close the program.

Totally agree - but you can sign up again. Can you believe these people! I asked them if they were going to pay for the stolen players. So far no response. Disgusting behaviour.

Are these the same people that own Plain Partners?

Well they say that you didn't bring an FTD since 1 January 2017. Is this true?

I mean... if you still earn good money, why shouldn't you promote them, at least a bit, to still get them an occasional FTD?

Can you promote them again now and send them 5-10 RMP until the end of the year? If you announce this to your AM then maybe you can keep your account open for another 2 months and then the AM can make a final decision?

To me, they wrote that I didn't have any payment generating activity, which is correct. I've sent some players in the past and they're not active anymore.

In case there are active players, it's simply rogue to close the account, no matter if somebody brings in new players or not. In my case it doesn't hurt or affect anything.

And I'm still amazed as to why these people who work for these operators ask why we no longer work on an affiliate basis.

There is more and more operators on a weekly basis pulling this kind of stunt so us affiliates need to start making it harder for them to set these kind of 'scam & false promise' deals up. As an owner of a few sites, we now ask for payment up front for a campaign for an x amount of months to be on our sites. We have the players, if the operators want them, they can pay upfront first then there's no chasing round for money and no risk in the affiliate program closing your account.

Maybe more affiliates should start thinking about working in the same way because then at least you know that you're going to be seeing your money and if they do end up closing their affiliate program, it's going to be of no issue to you.

I got the email, really not bothered about the closing of the account, but there's a 4 figure sum I'm owed, which I didn't even realise until I got the email and happened to log into the account. This money is from years ago.

I emailed them but no response, anyone have an email address that's likely to get an answer?

Sure, if you are big enough then that's an option.
But I guess this only works for CPA and not for "lifetime revenue share"?

For further proof this company is up to no good, I have a several year old account that I've never promoted - never sent them a player or even a click. I am exactly what you'd call an "inactive affiliate" there. My account is not closed, instead I"m getting "urgent" emails about compliance issues and bonus offer updates......to me that indicates they are only targeting earning accounts for closure.

Mental note to put this program on the never ever list.
