Geo Targeting
Just a quick question to affiliate programs
Why is it up to the affiliate to geo target his traffic before sending it to you ?
Why don't you sort the traffic yourself ?
This is pretty much how it's done in any other vertical on the web btw
Here is a million dollar idea : accept all geos, redirect each geo to the highest converting casino and pay accordingly.
I am amazed by the fact that many affiliate managers are telling me "sorry we are only looking for this geo"
You literaly get 1 affiliate out of 50 that has traffic only from this geo
Your job is basically to deny 98% of people who are contacting you ? or how does it work ?

There are a few reasons:
1. It's going to hurt conversions if we recommend a casino called "Roulette Monster" and the user ends up on "Slot Monkey".
2. With licensed brands there are legal issues. In the UK we have to link to the full terms for any offer, so if we linked to one site and it sent the user to the other, then technically it would be non-compliant.
3. Lots of companies don't operate in multiple geos.

I always assumed it's becuse GEO targeting is no end of problems, and some use different licencing depending on the region., I usually use programs that auto target myself though.
