Default German "Transitional Phase" Goes Into Effect: APCW Perspectives for 16 October, 2020

German "Transitional Phase" Goes Into Effect

There are new German online gambling regulations
set to come into effect in June of 2021.
However, a "transitional phase" went into effect
this week which will cause serious headaches for
    affiliates targeting the German market.
Plus, the UK Gambling Commission has even
more new rules rolling out before November.

Im not exactly sure if i understand it all correctly. How i read it, is that companies that want to obtain a german license have to comply to these transition rules.... but what about casinos that dont want a license... can they continue operating in the current grey german market till the official regulations are live?

More and more they're just clamping down on our industry. Haven't they done harm enough with their utter nonsense and gone far enough with this stuff? They can never be satisfied. They've all lost it. So disgusting and nasty.

    Much appreciated. Take care.

If they don't care about a license in July 2021 they can continue to operate in the German market.

I mean .. not using words such as jackpots, casino its utterly nonsense. I'm already tired of UK regulations , now Germany comes with this nonsense .... To be honest I don't care much about this (especially German Rules). The UK ones are all understandable and I am compliant with them 100%. However as an Affiliate i will never accept nor erase word such as casino, jackpot or table games from my website. Never ! I'd rather promote a grey casino for that specific country indirectly!

What I see, the way things go is pushing affiliates out. There is definitely an agenda here. Grey markets here I come (and nothing can stop us) as long as crypto will exists. In 10-12 years time they will see the damage done and they'll undo all this garbage (well I hope).

    Peace People! I'm out.

It's indeed nonesene, but the "logic" behind it must be that they want to give exclusivity to their land based casinos business, they want to keep the money in the country and remove completely all competition ... I can only guess that their landbase casinos operations have a very strong lobby which effect the decision makers

That's true. They say they want to protect the people with gambling problems and that's why only max 1k deposit per month. Funny is that nobody wants to protect the people who go then to a normal landbase casino, to any of the hundred sportbet shops or whatever. Everybody can spend there 100k a day and nobody care and ask any questions.

That's how smart German politician protect people

Just to be clear (and apologies if I was not clear in the video): My understanding is that you CAN use those terms on your website, just NOT in the descriptions for German casinos... or when targeting the German market in your PPC or advertising. I may be wrong, tho... the codes are confusing and open to be interpreted.

Just to make sure I understand,
So if I have a page on my site of Blackjack lets say a guide, so I can still have this page live but I can't advertise any casinos on it?

And regarding the actual term "casino or kasino", this is kind of confusing because, how can I use the word on my site but at the same time not use it on pages where I advertise casinos..?

yeah its getting worse and worse. from what i know they are pushing to a full affiliate license structure in whole europe...meaning in future everybody who promotes gambling in europe needs to have an affiliate license... some countries are already busy with this setup...
    Life is a gamble
