Thumbs up Get your copy of GPWA Times magazine issue 11 to be released at IGE and LAC

I'm very pleased to report the eleventh issue of the GPWA Times Magazine will be available at the IGE Conference in London this coming week January 26-28 and at the London Affiliate Conference January 29-30.

GPWA Times Magazine - Eleventh Issue Cover

It’s 2010 – a new year, in a new decade. To mark these milestones, we’ve set aside a few pages in the eleventh issue of the GPWA Times magazine to review the GPWA’s year in pictures and also to give you a last look at the ups and downs our industry has experienced over the past 10 years. The bottom line: there has never been a dull moment!

In our cover story, Vin Narayanan takes a look at the recent movement in European gambling away from a “one market” philosophy to a nation-by-nation approach, and then he shows us what the EU and organizations including Right2bet are doing to curtail the trend.

As we all know, mobile gaming is catching on, although so far its growth hasn’t exactly been explosive. But when it does explode – and this could happen suddenly, almost literally overnight – Gary Beal wants to make sure you’re ready. Read carefully what he has to say.

Also in this issue: Ryan Drew of Income Access on how good player promos are also profit-making promos. And, of course, J.Todd gives us the scoop on a new inductee into the APCW Wall of Shame.

In the Webmaster News section you'll see an excerpt from a letter written by Barney Frank to President Obama calling for the UIGEA implementations to be delayed – and they have in fact been delayed for at least six months. Congressman Frank, who by the way represents the district I live in (which is also the district where the GPWA is headquartered), has been knocking himself out for our industry for a long time. I think it would be a good idea to let him know we appreciate his efforts. Let’s make that one of our New Year’s resolutions!

Rounding out this issue are some terrific interviews with affiliates and affiliate managers. There are affiliate interviews with GPWA members casinocrush, Dominique, lunaraurora, and FMecan. And there are affiliate manager interviews with Emma Lewis of Royal Apollo Affiliates and John Benjamin of ChanceAffiliates.

Of course, if you are not able to pick up a copy in person at IGE or LAC this coming week, we would be more than happy to mail you a copy. If you are already registered on the GPWA site, then to subscribe to the GPWA Times Magazine just click on the "Edit My Details" option under the "My Account" menu bar navigation item (you need to be logged in for this option to be available). If you fill in your mailing address information in your profile, we will mail a copy of the magazine to you and we'll also include some prior issues if we have not already sent you them. If you are not already registered on the GPWA website, then just click the "Join GPWA" link above the navigation bar, and follow the "Register Now" link on that page, being sure to provide your mailing address when you register.

UPDATE: All past issues of the GPWA Times Magazine are now available online. Just click on the following link to see the eleventh issue:
