you think that doesnt happen lol
I have not watched the entire video yet, but at 5:38 in, the insider (he looks like a rogue - wonder if he converts when hit) pretty much says it all

What they are really saying about fairness is, that they have to manipulate their search results so that it gives them the political agenda they want

It is nothing new.People were always programmed. In the era of computers even more and more precisely.Quote:
People (like us) are programmed
Even the psychedelic revolution of the 60s knew this and from that revolution was born our cyber world. As they did experiments with LSD (I highly recommend that too) they realised that set and setting is crucial. Set is inner environment and setting is outer environment. If you want to have a good trip, you have to "program" the right set and setting. That is it. Nothing more. The outcome of trip will be defined by set and setting.
So we have to look back to the 60s, where even the solution was proposed:
1. Know that you are programmed and you always will be; there is no escape
2. Program for yourself something bigger than set and setting for the trip: now the set and setting has to be for the life. If we do not do it, like by trip, we let someone/something else to program it and the chaos comes. Bad trip will be the bad life.
There is no political solution for AI, like let's ban or restrict Google. If we do it, someone lese will be the gatekeeper to our minds, for example the regulator of the Google. It is certain most people will get "lost" completely. They will be perfect robots fulfilling the needs they will get implemented. They will think the needs and desires will be theirs. Study-work-have children-get a mortgage-pay taxes-protect the earth-commit euthanasia. Any diverse thinking will not be tolerated, because it will not be auto-tolerated. We already are nearly to that situation. We already live the lives of Stepford Wives in Matrix.
Yet nothing is lost for everyone. It is possible to make the radical move on personal level. You will not get likes at Facebook for it though and the way is likely radical, but not much violent. Def not shiny.
Society will be the dystopia where maybe the robots will serve to the people, but the common society itself will be a giant robotic macroorganism lacking the purpose of the existence, because all the "purpose" will be just desire of consumer and that purpose is something that is programmable. Few years ago were just philosophers and psychoanalysts talking about it; nowadays Google engineers try to get ROI from that. It is fast.
I love how you added euthanasia in there. Probably true though... for the good of the planet! Like in that old TNG episode!Quote:

It was pretty well documented in the 2016 election how search results were biased. You look up blue themes and nothing bad showed up in search bar, red themes or DJT were full of negative suggestions and results for even benign searches.
One of their founders was a huge HRC supporter.
Their other founder is Russian however...! So the Russians are actually interfering with US elections in 2016 and now, but via Google :P
Google is a private organization, so it's hardly interference if they favor one candidate over another. I really doubt they do - intentionally - but it would not bother me personally if that was their policy.
People use Google because it provides a service they like for a price they think is worth paying. We can quibble about whether the service is good or fair, and we can argue that the price is actually higher than it appears, but other search engines compete with Google and offer the public different terms. People are free to use them, and to ignore Google.
That sounds like something that would compel you to wear a tinfoil hat. With what Google is doing I might as well stock up on them.Quote:

A publisher (NYTimes) is responsible for the content provided.
A lot of US tech corps have been getting away with violating this for a long time. But, there is a very close relationship (money) between silicon valley and the democrats so they got a pass for 8 years under Obama. If you watched any of the Congressional hearings on tech then you will know that most Republicans are clueless when it comes to tech.
They can be heavily affected by enforcement right now. It is just that the US government is half corrupt and half incompetent.8-)
This is exactly right. Hopefully this will change as the younger (more tech savvy generation) become lawmakers.Quote:

The twitter mob mentality is a great example of people who can't think for themselves and act hostile towards certain people or situations because some prominent idiot or social justice warrior told them this is how they should feel about something. Now imagine that false narrative or iodiotic world view is the only thing they ever see or read online!
