Google now allowing online gambling ads in the UK

Google, which stopped running advertisements for online gambling businesses in 2004, will begin accepting the advertisements in the UK.

The decision is being criticized by a number of groups in England.

The Church of England led attacks on the decision, which came a day after figures were released showing a 25 per cent increase in people seeking help with gambling problems.

A CofE spokesman said: "Whatever people are searching for on Google, it probably isn't the chance to risk developing a serious problem that could have a hugely negative effect on themselves and their family. As people are facing more financial uncertainty, the fantasy of instant wealth could become particularly attractive and the consequences of losses correspondingly serious."

Only if you have a licence from the Gambling Commission. I've just come off the phone to them and for what it's worth, there is no licence that covers what affiliates do. The closest you can get is a licence for a Betting Intermediary which doesn't really cover it, although it might satisfy Google, but the costs start at £6,600 ($14,000) per annum.

If that would work I would be interested. With an Intermediary liscense could we have direct affiliate links? If so that would be worth it.
