Default Google plans 'Real Time Search'

With its real-time search, Google is creating an archive of the present

Up-to-the-minute search results mean we can now know as much about the present as we do about the past - and this will change journalism
Over the next few days Google search results will be complemented with up-to-the-minute tweets, social network updates and blogposts for certain topical searches as Google revamps its search engine and refreshes its results with real-time data

Keen to know how it affects affiliates.
    Cheers!

I noticed in a search last night a scrolling table in the results that had results of things for sale (I think it was). 1st time I have seen that, wish I could duplicate it but can't recall the key phrase I used.

Google's plan to dominate the world continues. Their desire to be part of anything and everything will lead to their downfall. Just remember, the Roman Empire didn't last forever ! In regard to this real-time search fiasco, the Social Media spammers will be having a field day, jamming up the SERPs, with their advertising drivel. The SERPs will become a cesspool of sorts. Why doesn't G just stick to the things that they are supposedly good at ? This baffles the mind.

it's surely going to add value to the quality of searches, it's like a cache mechanism in a computer -> what is updated last is more probable to be more important comparing to other data
actually I think that additional change in the algorithm can improve search quality even more:

it's possible to find per search what are the pages that people actually found as relevant and important to the search, this can be done by just checking if a person after clicking on a result page, clicked on the "back" button in the browser, Google can use this information to rank pages that are actually interesting to the people that made the search,

is this something that Google did not think of? or maybe it's a bad idea?
    just curious

I just started to notice the twitter scrolling feature on google. While I think it is interesting to have the social media so engrained in google, it may affect the integrity of google's ability to search based on valuable information. For example, if I do a search on "london affiliate conference 2010", I'm most likely looking for more info on the conference rather than a scroll of tweets where people either mention those words or how excited they are to go. Still cool, though.
