I was reading about google and it said that google gives more credit to text links. Is this true??

I'm not positive about this, cause I'm just a newbie too, but I have heard that anchor text in links has become much more important for Google pr.

e.g. you should have sites link to you with your keywords/key phrases IN THE LINK TEXT itself.

At least that's how I understood it. But I'm still just gettin my feet wet myself... :p

Correct. Think of text as food for the Google spider and have lots of it on your sites :D

I think people refer to the link text between the A tag.

so a link that looks like this Top Casinos will add weight to the key words "Top Casinos" on the website www.yoursite.com.
